Should we ALWAYS be working on ourselves?

Here's April's extra video! It's something I have been thinking about, working on, struggling with... ugh. So I hope it's helpful for you too!! Open to feedback or ideas about these videos and what you'd like to see more or less of!!! xoxo

Should we ALWAYS be working on ourselves?

this was something that really changed for me when i got on a mood stabilizer, funny enough. once i stopped having such crazy mood swings it was just like, huh, nothing is fundamentally wrong with me. i don't need to be trying to be perfect all the time to like, earn basic human dignity. i can take a break from trying to be better and still be a pretty good dude.

YES!! It's so hard to appreciate all the work we have put in! I am so glad this past year has helped you see your efforts and appreciate them :) xoxo You're pretty amazing too!! xoxo

I am so sorry for your loss.. pets are family and I can't imagine how hard that's been. xoxo But agreed.. sometimes we just need to take a break. It's okay to rest as long as we come back to it when we are recharged :) xoxo

100% see, hear and feel this!! It’s so hard taking a step back and appreciating the journey and progress we have made!! It’s hard to feel any satisfaction with the hustle of life. I think the last year has helped me try to appreciate myself and my efforts a little bit more…I think…well try at least! I hope you keep making the effort to appreciate yourself and your journey because you’re amazing!! ❤️

Hi Kati, thank you for your thoughts. I have kind of taken a break from "working on stuff" in therapy. I don't know if it's avoidance but I don't think it is. I seem to always have things come up with just trying to live my life, for example I just had another one of my animals that I had to put to sleep so today in therapy I talked (and cried) about this and often it does lead to other things. Anyway, not sure what I'm trying to say except maybe we are all on the same journey - just trying to figure it out and it's ok to just coast sometimes. Thank you for everything you do.

I think we all struggle with these thoughts sometimes. It’s good to know even the people we think have it all together don’t. We are all human. I appreciate you sharing the random thoughts with us. Much Love!

Hey Kati, Thankyou for the extra Video! I was just thinking this week from one of your posts about not only keeping in check negative Judgments but also not constantly striving to "Fix Ourselves" and just lean into those Breaths in moments or any healthy joyful distraction. As the "Fix it " mode constantly running drives hypervigilience, leads to Burnout or Frustration with not being where we think we should be.. when we may have had a lot to deal with that we have endured. I am having to experience a lesson in Patience and allowing what is and what is not yet to happen at a Slower pace and gradually things will resolve (yes some things too slow in my book! ) Then a new issue or opportunity opens up! I really think this new change is hopefully going to give that extra space you need for yourself as well as video insights. And maybe it will help others to get curious or take that Rest the mind + body has been desperate for.. or maybe its to take a leap into a new adventure or decisions we have been holding onto.. 🦋💜

Though I miss the extra livestream, I like the idea of "random" videos. It is so helpful, to see that you have struggles, too. So we can all work together in improving ourselves. Let's do it together!

I absolutely struggle with this as well. My therapist recently went on maternity leave and it gave me a chance to catch my breath a bit. Still really hard to turn the therapy brain off. Especially if so much of the content you consume is mental health related. As much as I love your videos/lives, I know I have to take occassional breaks to "just live life".
