Okay, it's a perfectly cromulent word despite the squiggly red line under it here in my comment hee-hee XD Womack was a kind of cop - 'Alliance Enforcement' (which to me implies that the 'Verse is a bit of a police state) and his ship looks like one of those 'gunships' that the huge Alliance Cruisers have all over them. He was a cop, but he was a dirty cop, doing illegal side-jobs for extra money - lots of money. He was also far from his jurisdiction, which is why he never contacted the Fed station on St. Albans. Edit: Okay so I should have finished your outro before finishing my comment. LOL My bad. There definitely were more seasons of Firefly intended and even to a point planned out (mostly outlines, but I think a few more scripts for S1 exist too). I have lots of ideas for stuff that would have unfolded, especially introducing Blue Sun Corporation as the main antagonistic organization, over and above the Alliance itself.

2024-01-26 20:53:20 +0000 UTCI have a "Jayne hat" that everyone hates when I wear it too. LOL! Also one of my favorite shirts has that quote "When you can't run you crawl....". Oh and to answer Hannah's question.....the show was intended for more than 1 season, but two of the episodes didn't even get to air originally on Fox. This was one of the episodes that didn't air as well as the Heart Of Gold episode, the final episode to air was Objects in Space (which most collections list as the final episode after the two unaired ones).

2023-08-27 11:53:20 +0000 UTCAlso, when Kaylee was alone in her bunk listening to the message, I think she was feeling homesick. I get the impression that she and Tracey came from similar backgrounds, and Tracey's message reminded her of how different Simon's background was. However, while Simon isn't as good with girls as Tracey was and has difficulty expressing his emotions, he is fundamentally good and honest, not manipulative like Tracey was. I think she held Simon's hand at the end of the episode because she realized this.

She thanks him for sending money home, which she says she used to help someone (a younger sibling, perhaps?) who is "still sick with the damp-lung". Also, when they're playing the part of the message where Tracey says that he wants them to take his body to his parents, Jayne immediately takes his hat off. We know Jayne is obsessed with money, but this episode perhaps provides some clues about why that is the case. He loves his family, who I suspect are extremely poor. Family is important to him, and he'll do whatever he needs to do to help them.
