2024-01-03 13:32:37 +0000 UTCI voted for TNG. In my opinion that's where you'll find the best written and best acted episodes of the franchise. The start is a bit rough as it struggles with an identity crisis in the first 2 seasons. As soon as it stops using the writing formula of TOS (I do like TOS for different reasons) it really comes into its own; Moral and ethical conundrums with well constructed motivations and character development, like any good sci-fi show should have.

2023-12-31 21:50:16 +0000 UTCSo I love them all (well most of them) but the acting and stories I found more compelling for DS9 as it went along. I enjoyed TOS and TNG a lot, but I enjoy the interconnected stories that seems more present in DS9. That being said I agree with Alan in that it helps if you have watched all the way from TOS to TNG to DS9 to......on and on. Only ones I didn't like were Prodigy (didn't feel like Star Trek at all) and Voyager (most of the time, had an issue with the fact that Janeway does something I can't get past in the pilot).

2023-12-31 01:24:13 +0000 UTCIt depends. I'm a believer in taking things in order. My favorite Star Trek is DS9, but I wouldn't watch that without seeing at least some of TNG so you can understand the universe. TNG is great by itself, but it's better if you've seen TOS.
