I may have stated before, but I'll say it again here: If you really want to get into the visceral experience of this Universe... and you'd like some answers to important in-between questions... play or watch a Let's Play of Alien Isolation. .... Want to know who Amanda Ripley was? Want to know how devious Weyland-Yutani really is? Want to know why the colonists at Hadley's Hope never found out about the ship that was emitting a warning signal until Ellen Ripley woke up? Want to find out just how terrifying facing down one of these Alien creatures really is? .... You'll keep reminding yourself "It's only a game... only a game..."... Incidentally if you check out a Let's Play on You Tube and want to know the full story, I strongly recommend Mr. Odd. Much of the backstory is read to you or told to you on audio, and he cares enough to make it happen. It's fun. It's terrifying, and to quote a rather infamous android... you have my sympathies....
