The Exorcist Full Length Reaction (Toy and Abby)

Thank you for being the best Patrons! Toy was terrified of just the idea of watching this movie and wanted to delay doing so as much as possible... You have to watch to see how that turned out! :)

We watched the film on Amazon Prime: https://amzn.to/3XfJUF4

We did not know that a director's cut of the film existed and included the crab/spider walk scene, which was, apparently, cut out of the theatrical release. In a twist of fate, the promo video for the movie that plays on Amazon included the scene, so the girls got to watch it after they watched the film itself.

There were times you girls made noises that rivalled the demon's lol xD Amazing how a little pea soup can instill such revulsion... Well okay, it WAS well done. :D Abby saying to Toy, "Don't look!" and holding the pillow in front of her face and I'm yelling, "No, look! Look Toy!" I'm so bad... :D The little medal pendant was St. Joseph; I looked it up and both St. Joseph and St. Christopher medals stand for protection. Edit: your reaction to the upside-down crab-walk shot in the promo was good too lol. Yeah, the director's cut is what I have on DVD so I watched this on Prime like you did. Suggestion for another Christian based religious horror. 1976 The Omen with Gregory Peck and David Warner. It's another classic though slightly less well-known. For a weird and freaky but campy horror, try 1979 Phantasm (one of you girls might actually sh** during one or two choice scenes lol). Some peeps like the whole Phantasm series but most agree the first is best. Have fun!

That last bit can be described as, "Umm... Ew..." hahaha I never knew it was Pazuzu, but one of the first times I saw this on HBO (early 80s!) I was big into D&D, and I thought it looked like Pazuzu from the depiction I had seen of that demon (in D&D a demon Prince). I was obvi on to something... :D (still like D&D at 60 btw)

The object the cop found at the bottom of the stairs was a piece of clay from Regan’s art supplies (it’s why he picked up the turtle). Captain Howdy was the demon Pazuzu, and Father Merrin was excavating artifacts in relation to that demon in Nineveh, Iraq. Merrin had previously encountered Pazuzu during the exorcism he conducted in Africa that they mention. In the book, Pazuzu addresses Merrin directly, through Regan, and says, “This time, you’re going to lose.” If you’re interested in watching a sequel, I would recommend you skip the second one entirely and just focus on the director’s cut of “Exorcist III: Legion”. It’s based on Blatty’s sequel book and was directed by him. It’s also been made somewhat infamous for being Jeffrey Dahmer’s favorite movie.

Giving you a heart now, but I gotta wait 'til morning to watch or I'll fall asleep -- I'm just that tired. So tired I edited that sentence four times (five now lol).

I never saw this movie as a kid and only saw movie reactions so thanks ladies for sharing your anxiety with us. It's a slow burn and any reaction with the Abster and Toy is all right with me
