Camera Angle with New Setup

We will be upgrading the studio in the very near future. The folks at Valencia Theater Seating were kind enough to send a pair of movie theater recliners for us to try out ( https://us.valenciatheaterseating.com/products/valencia-tuscany ), while the folks at Maono sent us two brand new (not yet on the market) microphones. They are to be set up in front, as opposed to overhead. This will allow for much better noise reduction (cars outside, Happy's barking, etc). We also purchased a new camera and are hoping to be able to afford to replace the other camera as well soon.

It is our opinion that a side angle is best for reactions, because humans are hardwired to better perceive facial expressions slightly from the side, but with the way the theater seats are built, it may be more difficult to focus the camera properly this way.

Our backup plan is to use the Camera 1 position for the main portion of the reaction and position the movie in the middle, on the bottom, and use Camera 2 just for cut-aways and for zooming in on faces. An advantage to this setup is that the person on the left will not be blocked by the movie in YouTube versions of the reactions.

We would like your opinions on the setup.

Personally I can’t wait to see your new setup. I love what Max is doing getting a new camera and giving us a better viewing experience. I wish I owned a movie Theater I would have one of the Theater Rooms for Run To The Movies to do their movie/Series Reactions. That would be very cool huh.

Thank you all for the responses! We spent the entire weekend arranging everything and testing the equipment. It was not possible to keep the camera angle as it was because of the larger distance between the chairs, so the main angle for the videos will be straight on. If, in the long term, we don't like how it looks, we may switch to a setup where we film each person on a separate camera and then put them together. We filmed two videos with different versions of the setup and they will be coming here soon. We love you all and appreciate your support!
