Blazing Saddles Full Length Reaction (Toy and Tori)

New Patreon here. Great reactions, but I have to say, that unless you use closed captions, you talk over some of the funniest parts. With all Mel Brooks' movies, you have to realize first that he's Jewish So he's always poking fun at Germans, Arabs etc. If you watch History of the World, you'll notice that during the Inquisition scene. As far as this movie goes, Brooks didn't want to use racial slurs, but Richard Prior, one of the writers, insisted they use slurs to shock some people, and to make others aware of how bad things were. If you want to see Slim Pickens (Mr. Taggart) in his most famous role before this movie, you should watch Dr. Strangelove. He plays a B-52 pilot sent to bomb Russia, but doesn't get the return to base order. In that movie, you'll also see James Earl Jones at around 20 years old. And Peter Sellers plays three characters in that move. It also has George C. Scott. It's really worth the watch. It was filmed around 1962 at the height of the cold war. There was a similar film made about that time called Fail Safe staring Henry Fonda, but it was very dramatic, where Dr. Strangelove is a little drama and a lot of comedy. Another comedy western you should watch is Rustler's Rhapsody starring Tom Berenger.

This was a hilarious reaction! Great job as always Toy and Tori! Curiosity about how the younger generations would react to this movie's kind of satirical commentary on racism was what got me started watching reactors to begin with. If the ladies liked this one, then they should definitely check out History of the World and Robin Hood Men in Tights. Young Frankenstein is a good one to do around Halloween too. Side note: The running gag about people calling Harvey Corman's character Hedy Lamarr was because there was a famous, actress named Hedy Lamarr. In fact when she heard about the bad guy in the movie having a name so similar she sued the film makers for $10 million dollars (Mel Brooks settled out of court). Thats why the quip about his name and that with it being 1974, he would be able to sue her. Also, the role of Sheriff Bart was originally written with Richard Pryor in mind to play him, but he was unable to at the time, so they got Clevon Little instead.

Hi I really love both Toy and Tori's reactions and I this movie to me is Comedy Gold. They mentioned Randolph Scott in the movie F.Y.I Randolph Scott is an American actor who appeared in films from 1928 to 1962. He was best known for his western roles but also appeared in other genres including comedies, drama, musicals and war films. He passed away in 1987. Again Toy and Tori's reactions and I hope Hannah and Abby can react to the movie if they haven't seen it. P.S. I really enjoyed their reactions way better here than on YouTube in my opinion.
