Tifa Lockhart in a Bar [Final Fantasy]. Tier 3 WIPs

Hello!

Here's a step-by-step WIP's sequence of recent "Tifa in a Bar" picture (original lineart by Legoman)

About the process: from the start i made a 2 versions with left and right light, then combine them together to have like a main and secondary light sources. Then i just worked on the anatomy, tweaking things here and there, changed the butt position and of course switched the head completely to match the one that i did on a previous Tifa artwork.

After that i switched to Blender - i used original in game Seventh Heaven Bar model that was extracted by Oo-FiL-oO , set up the lights and adjusted materials. I made a several renders - a main one, and the additional for the Tifa reflections on the bar counter (since she's just a flat image and not the actual model i had to move her around like 3-4 times and render). Then i combined the renders in Photoshop, added some light effects and put Tifa in. Next step was just tweaking the light on the character so it would look more natural in the scene and adding a glow (Bloom) effects. The final step was texturing to sort of match the level of details between character and the background and adding shiny skin highlights and veins for the alt versions

So yeah, so far that's the most technically advanced project that i've made. And thanks to you it was brought to life!

you have quite interesting achievements in 3D and i think your works will even better in the future. thank you for answering my question that i asked earlier. i also wanted to ask you. can you share an improved model of this location?

Mhm! Messing with 3d is a complicated step on it's own at least for me since i'm not like a real 3d artist. And of course i was lucky that the bar model was already extracted from the game and i didn't have to build it from scratch. So the piece took way longer that i initially expected. But regardless it was an interesting process - combining several techniques and stuff. I hope that the end result looks nice. Personally i enjoy that piece ^_^
