Cyber Dreams Readers - Future of the Series - Request for feedback!
Added 2024-02-13 18:14:20 +0000 UTCHi everyone! As you all know, I'm about halfway (or less, not sure yet!) through book five of Cyber Dreams, and my contract with the publisher is for five books. I spoke to them today, and they're willing to get behind more books, but I need to figure out how much more in this series I want to write. That said, if you abhor spoilers, even minor, vague hints at spoilers, don't read any more past this point!
***Read no more if you don't want any hinted spoilers!!***
There are a few possibilities for Juliet and Cyber Dreams. First of all, book five will not wrap things up for the main plotlines. I believe I can wrap up the major, overarching WBD plotline in book six. That might be a good place to leave things. Aren't we all a little tired of endless book series? Of course, I have many opinions about that - I've grown really attached to Juliet, and I feel like there's a lot more in her universe that she could get up to (supposing she comes out on top or escapes capture or . . . whatever resolution comes about with WBD.) All kinds of things could happen:
- War
- Exploration
- Romance/Slice of Life
- Salvage jobs
- Classic Cyberpunk action, more like book 2
- Conflicts with other corps/criminals/mercenaries
- Interactions with/missions for AI
- Dark Matter/Warp travel
Just to name a few. So, I have a discussion question and poll for you all. Please answer the poll, and then, if you feel strongly at all, please elaborate in the comments.
Do you want more books - if so, what kind of content do you really want to read?
-or-
Do you want to see things wrapped up nicely with six?
Note: If you're wondering why I don't just write book six and see how things go from there, it's mainly because I want to try to get Suzy Jackson to agree to finish the series with me. I need to get a plan in front of her with the # of books and a rough timeline.

Honestly I love the story, And I feel like things are just starting to get really started. Like Juliet about to get access to a dope ass gunship, that's be awesome.

2024-02-20 00:19:08 +0000 UTCI love the story and am interested in the whole AI backstory and how Angel and Athena would interact. Is Athena the last AI and is she still being hunted or even sane? From the beginning of the story Juliet's been trying to get away from WBD and that is a great ending but I would love much more than that.

2024-02-17 08:30:30 +0000 UTCi too love juliet as a character and would love to see more of her. as for what? aliens and such things... a first contact war perhaps... dosnt really seem to fit this story, i think. as far as i understand, the warp drive would still be a few decades away before it would be usable and the whole thing would seem to be a few steps to big to portray "realistically". i would prefer some classic cyberpunk action like in book 2, perhaps mixed in with some conflicts with other corpos/mercenaries, some salvage jobs and later, perhaps, finally the grand finale with athenas awakening and a big war due to it. maybe she even has to leave together with her friends and athena to a new planet, far out of the reach of the big bad corpos.
