The Promised, Spoiler-laden Summary of Changes from Vainglory v.1 and v.2.
Added 2024-09-03 20:12:30 +0000 UTCHi, Everyone - I promised I'd provide a summary of the changes I made between my first version of Vainglory and the version that is currently on this site. That being said, there will obviously be a lot of spoilers here! Don't read this post if you intend to read Vainglory.

Okay, here are the main changes:
1. There used to be "anima" and "soul anima" - this got changed to "mana" and "anima."
2. Grace and her "uncle" used up all of Ward's anima, giving him a reason not to just chill out in town, flirting with pretty girls. He now has a purpose to "advance."
3. I changed it so Ward didn't accidentally knock his "mana-well" over to Nevkin. Nevkin begged him to let him borrow it, and Ward succumbed to his good nature and loaned it. This was another reason for Ward to be pissed; Nevkin betrayed his trust.
4. Ward's relationship with Grace is less "cutesy" and more contentious.
5. Lots and lots of cleaning up prose and dialogue.
6. LitRPG elements have been added. I wrote two full chapters just about LitRPG mechanics (35 and 44) and lots of smaller scenes in existing chapters.
7. Finally, there was a massive change to the last few chapters of the book that none of you have seen, so I won't write about it here. :)
I'm probably forgetting something, but that's most of it.
Thanks for reading!
