As you know game assets are designed for default lighting system and they are not PBR textures. So there is no way to get full potential of PBR lighting without changing all the assets with PBR textures. But I have an idea to mix systems together for best result.
I want to use improved default lighting for environment and PBR lighting for cabin & metallic/reflective surfaces like vehicle paint, water, wet road etc.
I'm not sure if its going to end well because they should look like they belong to same scene but I will try my best.
Its going to support default weather system & weather mods, sunlight and day/night cycle. I think this is the way to get best potential of everything.
1st photo is default lighting.
2nd photo is improved default lighting (after one day work, it will be better after all the improvements)
3rd photo is PBR lighting for cabin, it will be used for rendering cabin. It is going to support sunlight/night & shadows.
4th photo is PBR lighting for vehicle, it wil be used for rendering reflective surfaces of truck & vehicles. It is going to support sunlight/night & shadows.
