I'd imagine that Double-O was envisioned as a 50 episodes show and a movie, while it was broken to 2 "seasons" for airing simply because Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion needed to be wrapped up in early 2008. In other words, I partially "blame" the lot you belong to, Jackson. On the other hand, Double-O was dragged into being a 30th anniversary with the final 12 episodes aired in 2009. That finale was jam packed with references that I would not have understood had I not followed this watch along podcast.
