What is A Life Lived.

I felt it was about time to really pin down what this game is, is going to be and isnt going to be.

I wanted to be clear from the start and want to say it again. This is not a visual novel, this is not a hold your hand through a series of events, or series of events linked together by a series of choices that may or may not change the path of the outcome.

The game is a sandbox (or is aiming to be). Its is an RPG. It is stat driven. It is quest based. At the moment there is no main quest line/story. I have not totally written out the idea of there being a main storyline but as the game is meant to appeal and allow the player to go down a complete different set of paths depending on which stats, which quest and which NPC you interactive with. Then I guess a single main quest line would not really work.

Some of the quests however are going to be long and have many many steps and/or trigger other quests.  I want the game to have a replayable aspect eventually. So that while one run through the game you might choose a series of quests that block out some others. A second run through you might run in a completely different direction. I would love it if a player said this is the 3rd or 4th time playing the game and I just stubbled across this event.

There is a bit of an "old school" feel to the layout / navigation and this is on purpose. It will not be to everyones tastes, but nothing will.

If you find that the game is hard, then I have done my job correct.. If you find the game is boring then I have not.  The game is still very early in its creation, and getting the balance between difficult but fun and boring and grindy is difficult and is being working on with every release.

I am trying to build something that is going to fill a gap in the current adult gaming market. Yes there will be aspects that are similar to others. But eventually I want this game to have some real depth.

During the testing of v0.3 I actually had a go first the first time starting the game with no real boosts, and to just walk around speaking to people and trying to step through the quest.. I was well over an hour into that game and had not got that far.. I had finished some of the basic quests, but were still only on the first first steps in some of the more difficult (and I knew where I needed to go to trigger things). When i did feel there was a little more click on things I had clicked on before for the same result but to build up a stat that I needed, that I would have liked. I didnt feel this was excessive (as it has been in previous versions)... I did feel that by playing the easier quests first, that I was building up the stats ready for the harder quests. Hopefully this is something that as players you will also find

I am going to pin this statement for now.. I might update it as the game develops as I hope it will help players to understand what the game is, and not be disappointed that it is not like many others that they are used.

Thanks again all for your kind words and support :)

Yes you are right about the other jobs all being later game cash builders.. I think I am going to 100% defo introduce the father npc intro quest which is going to bring in the job with him, which like you said could well have extra quest later to gain a promotion..

To be honest my first job ending up being working with your dad would probably be the best change. He’s a machanic with his own shop. he would always need help plus promotion is possible in his profession but their is a roof to it as the farthest you can get is fixing cars. Meaning you start at like 10 and the highest you can get to is 25. Probably only on weekends. This would make it the second best job besides the clothing store which is for higher levels. Also on your point about the other jobs. Those jobs would be a good way to elevate the money issue if it wasn’t for two things. Upskirt you need to grind then it’s once a week. Good money and you can use any picture but that’s a late game money maker if anything as you both get that thru playing normally and the fact that it can evolve into more professional photos later on which would bring in vary good money. While the bathroom is well gay content. Not everyone is gay man. A good portion of your audience will NEVER touch that content because it’s not for them. Like until you get a jigalo job or something most of that prostitution money making will be a no for a lot of people. The other two jobs thou do work but their like I mentioned with the clothing. Higher level jobs. Those arnt the jobs you will be starting with and your probably won’t get them for hours if not days for your playthru once the game actually gets content and new players are just wondering around quest completing and scene grinding. But at that point in time money shouldn’t be an issue and if it is it’s at the level it should be at.

I defo intend to add more start quests to introduce certain NPCs.. Like the Lexi one.. The Eliha one is probably going to be a longer intro to that npc.. And yes these mini quests will have more rewards to fill out stats... At the moment it seems the two main stats are money and MC corruption.. and then depending on which quest you are doing, that npcs like/corruption.. My aim for being able to start the my first job is to have the npc like and charisma by the second in game weekend. which should be easy to do. talking to npc 2x a day and reading a certain book/mirror each a day.. I think the trick when I tried to play it was not to focus too heavily on any quests for the first game week/2 weeks.. Just explore the enviroment. interact with as many things as you can. and see where that takes you.. And then maybe knock out the green quests, moving as you say on to the yellow ones.. I think you are right that in the future when everyone has a home (fully built) remember where each one is, is going to be somewhat hard.. I will have to have a think about how to make that easier to find.. maybe a little pic on the npc page that shows their house on the map... Always a pleasure to read you feedback as you can see its well thought out and constructive. And also it does feel like we are as you say on the same wavelength..

Ok I think I’ve done most of the content and on your last point about pacing. You need more starter quests and like I mentioned before my first job needs to be easier to complete because money is still an issue. You got the lead ins in now which is good but still no states or money from base that would elevate the early grind. We can do the greens but the yellow and above still take a good amount of grinding to even get close to starting let alone going far in My suggestion besides moving my first job from yellow to green (10 like and 5 charm) is to also have more intro cherictor quests. Easy stuff like the one you did. Something that has a bit of work involved and just gives us a taste of their character but not much else. Not everyone needs them but as this is an rpg quest completion is how we get boosts in states so more easy starter quests the better. Of course in this case your probably already had the same thought pattern so instead let’s just keep it as a standard filling out your baseline for now as it seems the game runs great so i think your mostly done with the intensive tech stuff. Thou I do have a suggestion for this. The twiiter ripe thing your using also use it as a way to keep more in-depth notes on cherictor. People start to muddle homes get lost and other thing’s forgotten so just a page that has all you know about someone you’ve talked to would be a great way to keep track
