Welcome to Chellingsbury Academy for Foster Children & Young Adults -- you've been hired as a governess in this institution, an orphanage and boarding school built in a dark Victorian mansion atop the tallest hill of rainy Lyabut, England. The school is famously strict, with a disciplinary code centering on corporal punishment...a standard the faculty are held to as well.

One day, however, some unusual...occurrences at Chellingsbury make your security and malaise dissipate like a springtime fog. You begin to hear screams regularly from the rooms of the boarding school building. And not just the normal cries of girls being caned for various misbehaviors...horrified screams! A rumor circulates that a monster is haunting the Chellingsbury Academy building...a strange and terrifying demon known as the Pastpire.
