Thank you to all the new patrons who pledged. All the former patrons who came back. And all the existing patrons who continue to give, or moved up a tier.
This has been game-changing. With the added support, I will be able to pay the bills and keep making videos. I won't have to worriedly check the YouTube ad revenue numbers every day anymore - and that is a great relief. I can go back to focusing on making quality videos - and I'm very excited to do that.
I've received a lot of comments on here and YouTube, it will take me a while to get through them all. Thanks to everyone offering advice - I will make a Patron video next week talking about lots of things surrounding the channel that may help explain why I don't make YouTube shorts, or do things a certain way.
It's been an intense few days. Making that video has opened me up to a lot of criticism and negative comments on YouTube. I certainly didn't relish making it - it's scary being so vulnerable on the Internet, and then having a bunch of angry armchair experts tell you how you're doing everything wrong and should be ashamed of yourself. But I take comfort from all the support I've received - it's been great to learn how many people want Actualol to continue.
We're currently at 27 pledges in the I Want More LOLs tier, which is amazing. So I will try to use that support to increase my output - going towards my editor and hopefully someone to help film b-roll, so I can focus on the words.
Here's to a bright future! I now can say "this is working" and get back to doing just that!

After receiving a prostate cancer diagnosis, I discovered the table top board game hobby as a way to spend time with my family and Actualol quickly became my favorite source of insight and information. I would be interested in hearing your views on the group social deduction game, Blood on the Clocktower which is available both in physical (bloodontheclocktower.com) and online form (botc.app). That may not be your typical game segment but I am curious what your thoughts would be. Keep up the great work and ignore the naysayers!

In my head I know I should pay attention to the positive, but that is easier said than done. It sounds like that is what you are trying to do as well. One piece of well-meaning advice I have is that if you do decide to start a podcast then I wouldn't put it behind a paid tier on the Patreon. There is always the option to have paid/subscriber-only episodes for sure but a podcast would be really welcome as I personally listen to lot of podcasts while doing housework and so on and there are very few board game podcasts that I listen to anymore but I would listen to yours.
