Director William Girdler would reuse Christopher George (who played Kelly) and Richard Jaeckel (who played Scotty) in his next film DAY OF THE ANIMALS. Looks like you learned your lesson after Cannibal Holocaust! That happy music in the beginning is supposed to keep you off guard for all that carnage you were about to see. I'm glad you noticed the JAWS similarities in this film like the mayor who doesn't want to close the park and the three main guys going after the bear. There was supposed to be a sex scene between Kelly and his girlfriend after the attack on Bobby since Kelly was so distraught and his girlfriend was trying to comfort him. But William Girdler decided not to use it because it would slow the film down and it would give the movie an R rating instead of a PG. Yes they obviously used a real bear for this film with a trainer but they had to keep the actors several feet away from him. For the close up shots, they used a tall guy in a bear suit! Well, thanks again for reacting to Grizzly David! Hopefully, Day of the Animals is the next film on my list that you will react to! 😊
