2023-04-16 23:14:55 +0000 UTCIt's always been a controversial topic on whether Pat Garritt really did kill Billy The Kid or whether it was faked, notice how at the end when Doc was narrating he said that Billy was buried next to Charlie - and some time after that someone snuck into the graveyard and chiseled ' PALS ' on the tombstones, Billy gave the speech about being Pals to Charlie & Steve when he was trying to convince Chavez to stay. Many historians believe Billy was never buried there because Pat let him go and faked his death, they believe it was Billy who chiseled the word on the tombstones.
