Added 2023-09-11 12:56:49 +0000 UTCWhen a dispute occurs between a logging operation and a nearby Native American tribe, Dr. Robert Verne (Robert Foxworth) and his wife, Maggie (Talia Shire), are sent in to mediate. Chief John Hawks (Armand Assante) insists the loggers are poisoning the water supply, and, though company man Isley (Richard Dysart) denies it, the Vernes can't ignore the strangely mutated wildlife roaming the woods. Robert captures a bear cub for testing and soon finds himself the target of an angry mutant grizzly.

He's the one who got his hands bitten off when he tried to revive the guy on the table. Oh, the mutant bear was really Mama Bear and those two cubs are hers and the one that gave the jump scare at the end was Papa Bear. I think they maybe wanted to do a sequel because of Papa Bear and Talia Shire's character's pregnancy. But I guess they never intended to make a sequel or poor box office stopped it from happening. The intense music score was by Leonard Rosenman who also did the music score for Rebel Without a Cause with James Dean. John Frankenheimer directed the 1962 classic thriller The Manchurian Candidate. His last film before he died was Reindeer Games with Ben Affleck. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed this movie my friend! I'm looking forward to your Orca reaction next! 😊
