2024-10-17 01:14:36 +0000 UTCI'm surprised that you actually enjoyed this film despite its confusing storyline David! It's still not a great film the original was but it still has its own merits: The stunning cinematography during the scenes in Africa, the special effects filled climax and an excellent score by the great Ennio Morricone. The film has a great cast that included Linda Blair and Max Von Sydow from the first movie, Louise Fletcher who just won an Oscar for ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST two years before, Paul Henreid who played the Cardinal also played Victor Lazlo in CASABLANCA, Ned Beatty who was also in another John Boorman film DELIVERANCE, the late James Earl Jones playing the older Kokumo and of course the great Richard Burton who was nominated for an Oscar a whopping SEVEN times but sadly never won.
