So, some tea for you... Fans believe this album is about more than 1 relationship. A number of the songs, particularly those that don't paint the guy in very good light, are allegedly about Dylan O'Brien. The same that "rhymes with villain" in Sabrina's song Go Go Juice. Free Now is allegedly about Paul Mescal, who she's currently dating. But when she wrote it, he wasn't in a place to have relationship or fall in love, which is what I take from "if you feel like falling, catch me on the way down". Her use of words, word play that Taylor has used in the past or currently used on TTPD, the poetry references, the Gardens of Babylon reference she’s used before in Cowboy like Me. Even the subject of history and how her relationships hadn’t worked out in the past. What seemed like fate turns out to be “what the hell was I doing” is very TTPD coded. Felt like something OLD (like it belongs, like it’s home to her). And the use of the word holy is also very TTPD coded. The flames end up in ashes, give it 10 mos, Babylon lovers ……. Totally Taylor lyrics. I also think it’s more Taylor than Gracie here, her use of harmonies, the bridge and yes You + Me was … us.
