(Concept) Freedom Planet -Decorative Knots-
Added 2019-06-05 03:54:44 +0000 UTCI decided to compile and showcase the different decorative knots that each of the main three girls use for future reference.
I've been noticing a few inconsistencies on fanart about these (including my own works, oops). I believe these (along with Neera's, whom I decided to exclude for the time) are more likely limited to the Shang Tu Royal Palace girls (so Team Lilac and Neera Li).
Even if I don't end up putting one on some characters (including future designs like the Isabelle FP) I think I will continue contributing more moodboards on details like these for future FP designs.
Random Facts:
- All decorative knots knots are tied using one thread, usually about one meter in length. The knot looks identical front and back.
- Knots are commonly red due to their symbolic association with luck, joy and happiness.
- Taking in account Chinese culture and color symbolism, the color yellow (used by the three girls in the main game) represents power, royalty, and prosperity, as well as representing the element of Earth (possibly a way to honor their apprenticeship/partnership with Neera).
- Other colors can include gold , green, blue or black.
- There are many different shapes of Chinese knots. The most common being flowers, birds, dragons, and fish. Sometimes coins are attached to the knotting.
