Painting finally.

Hey guys. So the paints are back out. And I’ve got an update for you. Here is the rhino almost done. Should’ve just finished him today but I got lazy and decided to go home at a reasonable hour for once.

Complicated colour palette for this as it’s basically all just grey. So I went with a warm hue for the base and a cool hue for the rhino. This is to co treat the subject from the background or base. Annoyingly the colour is nothing like what it is in real life. I just can’t get it to show how my eyes are seeing it. Also annoyingly I got a little too much cool tone in the base but it’s fine I guess. I needed the elements to contrast against each other but at the same time not be devoid of colour. And yes. He looks blue in the pics. But he’s just not blue on my table lol. Might have to try some sunlight for the lighting to see if that fixes it otherwise I’m gonna have to get George round to help me figure out the colour temperature for shooting this monster.

Also I’m gonna try get a load of painting done this week and then get ahead of the schedule. That way I’m not in fight or flight every week with last minute panic. I need to get ahead because I’ve been neglecting all my other humans at home and my businesses too. I’ve ignored all tattoo requests for weeks now just keeping myself on target with paintings etc. it’s just so much to do and I get one tracked mind and just focus on models sometimes leaving my other commitments in life to just fester in the background.

I have to also actually take this “job” seriously haha so I need to make some merch or some product or something but as a person I just don’t agree with making something to just make money. I want to make something we need or would use daily, but I dunno what. Be dumb to make more brushes, or paints or palettes etc because we have so many of these things and slapping my face on something to upsell it just feels wrong to me. This is why I don’t often post links or affiliates or anything cos I’m really funny about trying to make sales. It’s my weakest point and prolly why I still scrape every month to make the bills lol. Any of you guys know business and could throw me some pointers I’d be grateful or if you have an idea you think I should explore I’d be interested to hear that too. I’m here for the long haul so might as well make it business and actually be able to live comfortably.
