Cyborg reassembly sketch 1

Something that occurred to me while I was sketching this is that if you open a cute cyborg's belly to mess around w her robot organs/whatever, she no longer really has any muscles to sit up with, which made me think about what sort of work-fixtures and harnesses you'd use while working on a conscious cyborg girl. Watching a lot of machining videos on youtube has made me realise that work-holding is often a much more significant part of any craft than you might realise.

I also got rly into the idea of using special tape to hold bits of bio-organic organ or muscle in place during work or as part of reassembly. I imagine it's got a texture like clingwrap and is like that bondage tape that only adheres to itself. I wonder what happened to this girl that required an overhaul of what looks like three limbs and most of her guts? My rabbithole narrative musings didn't go any further than "I don't know what to do with her left arm."

I hope the vibe comes across how I intend it; playful rather than exploitative. Anyway, can you tell that Gunnm was a such a hugely formative influence on me that its whole sexy cyborg gore aesthetic lives in a deeply subconscious part of my brain? Gunnm (Battle Angel Alita) is rly good, you should read it.

I'm pretty sure I am mostly referencing a particular japanese artist whose name I don't know who draws mostly schoolgirls building robots/schoolgirl cyborgs in the design of the synthetic muscles, but it's been a long time since I browsed that art, so maybe (hopefully) I am rolling other influences in as well? And I'm glad you like it! Gorey is kinda what I was going for, sorta sanitary tech gore? There's certain kinds of gore/ero-gore I appreciate, usually where it's sufficiently conceptually detached from concepts like ""mess"" or ""harm"", and robo guts fit into that space well. I might draw more on this theme

This shit right here? This is why I signed up. blessing us robotfuckers on this day. Also I love your interpretation of synthetic muscle and tendon, it looks really cool. tech, yes, but still has a gorey feel

Mayday!
