White House Blues | Left Hand

(relative tuning: gDGBD)

Here's a close-up of Clif's left hand playing through the first and second parts of "White House Blues" (aka If I Lose Let Me Lose, All You Fascists, Railroad Bill, Washington Blues etc.) George R. Gibson, banjo player, balladeer, author and historian from Knott County, Kentucky showed me how to play the tune something like this years ago.  (To slow down or speed this clip up sue the little machine wheel symbol in the bottom right corner of the video player.)

You just don't know how much better that makes me feel, took me ages to figure it out, never seen one like it before

I have had these two banjos for MANY years and it still screws me up sometimes.

I still love this tune and I will keep on trying to perfect it, the lesson is great. But it sure would help if the banjo you use for lessons had the inlay on the tenth fret and not the ninth, confused the hell out of me

Forgive my tab request, I had not seen the original lesson and that makes it all very clear, cheers.....

Just love the tutorial style. Trying to get my head around the best way to combine left and right hands. If tabs were available it would be great, probably a great deal of work though. Think I will try the right then combine with the left later..... Tabs for two finger are difficult to find, although Sebastian Schroeder's books are helpful, if a little short. So if anyone has a route to two finger tabs that would be great..
