Thanks for sharing Clifton. For any of you folks who like to read there is a whole chapter dedicated to Dock Boggs in Marcus Greil’s Old Weird America. The book is based on Dylan’s Basement Tapes which is based on Harry Smith’s 1951 Anthology of American Folk Music.

There is a very good recording of Boggs giving a live concert at Clifton's Alma Mater AP State, available from the Field Recorders Collective where you get to hear him talk in between selections . He played a big old RB with a skin head

Boggs was unique. Unfortunately, like other significant banjoists of his time and place he is wholly neglected by many OTM banjoists because he had a unique style, sang, did not primarily play fiddle tunes, and played a banjo style predominantly that was a mixture of the three finger guitar banjo style wrongly called Classic today and the two finger style, although he could also play down picking which he called "knock down" and also could pklay the straight parlor three finger style.

Nice insight into Doc’s life and playing. A pleasure to listen to. Thanks for sharing.
