"German War" | Close-Up (Up-Picking)
Added 2018-11-18 00:24:32 +0000 UTCIn response to several requests, in this video I attempt to demonstrate "German War" using up-picking/up-stroke/Seeger Style picking. I have never tried to play it this way before, but turned out very similar to the way Matt Kinman plays German War, Texas Rangers and Southern Texas (all related songs).
I start out playing the song through at normal speed, then again while singing a verse over it to help you form a better idea of how the words match up with the picking. Then I slow down and show a couple different styles of up-picking and different angles.

2018-11-22 06:10:50 +0000 UTCYes! I'm hoping somebody will start playing this piece and singing the old "Texas Rangers" words to it. Whenever I do a "cowboy" song I prefer to up-pick or fingerpick (like "Southern Texas" or "Hills of Mexico).
