I learned this song from George Gibson of Knott County, Kentucky. It was the first waltz tune I ever heard played on the five-string banjo. George can be heard performing this piece live on his 2000 album "Last Possum Up the Tree."

Farewell my Bonnie Blues Eyes farewell my Little Bonnie don't cry

For if you cry you'll spoil those blue eyes,

Farewell my Bonnie Blues Eyes.

Farewell my Bonnie Blue Eyes (x2)

My trunk's all packed I ain't coming back,

Farewell my Bonnie Blues Eyes.

Farewell my Bonnie Blue Eyes (x2)

I'm going to the West to the girl I love best,

Farewell my Bonnie Blue Eyes.

Farewell my Bonnie Blue Eyes (x2)

I'll see you again but the good Lord knows when,

Farewell my Bonnie Blue Eyes.

Drunkards lonely child what is the tuning?

That's a good idea, Lorenzo, and I've considered offering all these in a podcast format. I have saved an .mp3 of each "episode" for that purpose.

Clifton, is there any way of downloading the mp3s of these Patreon performances as a sort of album?
