Inside the Banjo Bunker!

The photos below offer a glimpse of the most impressive folk and early banjo collection that I have ever seen (and at this point I've seen a few). Please don't ask me its location and please don't share these photos publicly.

Jim, I uploaded the first one today. Unmarked (Nelson?), early 1880s w/ aftermarket inlay. Nice banjo!

The red shirt and vest tell the tale, missing only is a snap-brim hat...

It's crazy to think about all the history in that collection.

Thanks for the series of photos. It sure shows how diverse the banjo is in terms of size, shape, and materials. Do you have any information on any of these banjos? : around when it was made, who made it, etc. It would be interesting to know that for at least a few of those banjos. Did you play any of them? Any favorites?

Amazing collection. I had only one thought, to include an object in the photos for scaling.
