A short, quiet tour of our Appalachian homestead - starring Copper & Mexi (hound dogs)
Added 2020-07-23 15:21:58 +0000 UTCI sometimes feel compelled to show my friends here a little slice of what my life is like outside of banjos. Yesterday evening. when the light was perfect, I went outside with my camera and just filmed wildflowers, fruit trees, and vegetable patches. I also took a short walk through the mature forest that grows behind our home.
Again, I won't make a habit of sharing these nature videos here. The next post will be a poll to determine our next lesson/tab series.
Sincerely your friend,
Clif

There are a lot of similarities with the Anglo settler culture in Australia and the Southern U.S. Most of us are descended from people who were deported or otherwise forcibly driven from Britain and Ireland during the 18th-century, for example. Many of the old British ballads that we sing here are also found in the folk traditions of Anglo Australians, also. A great example that I always think of is the song I do called "Boots & Leggings." A guy in Australia told me that his wife's grandmother also sang it.

2020-08-09 12:32:07 +0000 UTCThere is a bit of a rowdy bunch down the road who operate a small members-only shooting range. I steer clear of them.

2020-07-30 11:31:39 +0000 UTCI guess you could say that. To properly care for honeybees is a lot of work and financial investment. We also have so many native pollinators here that beekeeping is not necessary for raising a successful orchard. Also have plenty of neighbors who keep bees, and those bees are all over my property as well.

2020-07-23 23:00:33 +0000 UTCNice little slice of paradise you have there Clif! You mentioned once that you used to have bees there.. was wondering if you gave em up cause they were cutting in to your banjo time? They can be a lot of work.

2020-07-23 22:23:32 +0000 UTCI'm 10 minutes walk away from the beach so it's not all bad but I would love to live in a peaceful rural location with a little land and away from other people as much as possible! That said, I think I was hearing gunshots at the end of the video, Clif!
