"How Came That Blood" Lesson

eBEF♯B ~ gDGAD. I composed "Ballad of Kyle Rittenhouse" a few days after  its protagonist killed two men, and wounded a third, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The melody is my original arrangement of a traditional English call-and-response ballad known by numerous titles, including "Edward," "My Son David," "Henry," "What Put the Blood," "How Came That Blood," and others (Child 13; Roud 200).

I discovered Lankum years ago while researching "Boots and Leggins," which they call "Old Man from Over the Sea" or "Old Man from Leigh." I am almost never jealous of another culture, other artists, other musicians. With some notable exceptions! When I see another artist/band bringing those archaic, ancient, universal vibes (like I think Lankum does), I will feel something approaching jealousy.

I love this song! Have you heard the mostly if not totally acapella rendition by Irish folk miscreants Lankum? It's great and I'm excited to be able to play a rendition. All of there out put is great but the first album has some yet very dark traditional songs. They also have a very drone heavy take on Katie cruel.

and I wouldn't exactly call him a "Man".

Ok then, I think the others were redeemable but not Rosenbaum. He definitely deserved what he got. Happy now?
