"You Don't Know My Darling" Lesson - gCGBD

I learned "You Don't Know My Darling" from a recording of John Snipes of Chatham County, North Carolina. Another recording of Snipes performing this tune exists under the title "Hello My Darling."  The pattern used here is similar to that used by Dock Boggs in "Banjo Clog."

My instrument is a 1940s (Gretsch) Bacon "Belmont" banjo tuned ~ gCGBD.

Indeed a melodious old tune that incites the heart. Thank you Clifton.

Try eAEG#B (gCGBD dropped 3 frets). I think that was my 'exact' tuning for the performance video of "You Don't Know My Darling."

This is a fun tune , thanks! I’m playing around with it in gCGBD but would like to drop tune it to where you are. I hesitated to ask so I could try it on my own, but I’m still learning lol and couldn’t quite get it. What’s the tuning you’re in? ( I tried dropping it to fBFAC btw) Thanks!!
