If the New York Comedy festival happens in November (as of now it is) I’m going to do the tour bus show if they’ll allow it. I’m not doing comedy clubs at 25% capacity. I will wait until clubs really open and people feel good about going out. But this is a decent article.

2020-05-12 12:13:57 +0000 UTCI’m the Production Manager for a 1,000 person rock venue. That interview was the most realistic outlook on when and how we can come back to entertaining people. I wish I worked for such a level headed owner. Yes, some people will be starved for entertainment. A lot of those same people will also not have expendable income for some time. People with the money to go out for a night on the town will mostly be middle aged and hesitant. In early March the President of Live Nation stated that they plan to hold out for a vaccine before moving forward with large scale events and venues. I would imagine that Live Nation will set the industry standard, since they own and operate the most venues in the country. Not only do venues not bring in enough money when operating at a percentage of capacity, but tours won’t be scheduled when only able to book a percentage of the cities. I don’t expect to be able to throw a show until there’s a vaccine. I wouldn’t want to be in a room with 1,000 other people night after night until there is a vaccine!
