My recent artworks featured a simplistic yet elegant style, which marks a return to my preferred workflow; animation-style cel-shading.
I find the charm of this workflow more appealing and expressive, simple yet elegant.
It's the story, the lighting and the background that carries the artwork.
I had initially not intended this to be a 2-part illustration, but it felt kinda awkward to leave the viewer without a rewarding feedback for viewing the illustration.
The lighting becomes more intense on the second panel, at the same time we capture Ame's smile, forever frozen in time.
The dialogue was taken from a memorable quote:
The premise of the 2 part illustration shows the viewer and Ame, on a visit to a shrine, before winter.
The setting is based on a shot taken from a shrine in Kamakura, Japan.
And that is all! Thank you as always!
Look forward to the next post!!!
