Since nobody has really mentioned it, at least in my interpretation (and I think the movie implies this too), the reason Goku is able to defeat Broly in one punch is because he hits him right in his weak spot - the spot where the saiyan soldier stabbed him with the dagger as a child. It's like it's re-opening a wound. Definitely a bit of plot armor involved lol, but, with someone as OP as Broly, they had to give a weakness I suppose.
