Big Change and Production Update! 8.14.21

Hello honorable Patrons!

We have some BIG news this week! You've already been told about our entry into Stareable Fest and our effort to finish episode 2 before then. For a big change to that effort, here's a short word from Hannah Mangan, the half of our creator team with an animation degree:

"As it stands, we're almost 70% through our second episode. You might be thinking 'thirty percent before the month is out? That sounds pretty tight!' Well, normally it would be a harrowing endeavor, but because I believe in this project and especially because I enjoy working on it, I've quit my day job as a studio animator to work on The West Patch and its family of projects full time. Without the support of you all (and of my family who will be allowing me to leech off of them in the months to come) it would be hard to see this as more than a hobby, but I've treasured every word of support you've given and every bit of feedback. If we can't hit episode two by the 31st we still have a great pilot for Stareable and if we can hit it, you lovely patrons get to see the two-episode screener edit before the second episode comes out by itself on youtube, so stay tuned! This is my life's full endeavor and attention now so you'll be seeing a lot more progress and a lot more experimental distractions like the 'Moonbath Over the West Patch' short that went up on youtube yesterday. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! I'll work hard to justify your time and care!"

So with that, our productivity is expected to improve and our spirits are very high about the change! Now for some general updates!

- Episode 2: as stated, production will speed up with the new full-time efforts of our animation team. Expect a new speed-paint video sometime this week on youtube with a commentary track exclusively right here on patreon, just like the good ol' days!

- The Book: While Rachel, the main writer, is still away to work hard on the set of the indie movie she wrote ( directsonmovie.com ) and Hannah is cranking away at the Episode 2 deadline, the book's progress has been delayed, but we are very excited about the state that it's in and have extra treats in store for when it's finally ready to ship. We thank you as always for supporting us before all of the patron rewards were ready, and your patience as we continue to work towards fulfillment of that.
