Would the opposite of Wrinkles be Cassandra?

Notes from a Farscape fan: 1) Let's get Grayza out of the way first. Most hated character. Irredeemable. Monstrous. My only props to the existence of the character at all is that she is a horrific subversion of a common, misogynstic science-fiction trope. A lesser show would have the sexy commandant with arousal powers being treated like a sexual fantasy for a straight male viewer. Farscape does not do that. It doesn't shy away from the horror of what she's doing. It doesn't make light of these men being forced to sexually obey her just because she's got a large chest and boots. What she does is vile, and it is treated as such. 2) Chiana and Crichton immediately coming to each other's defence instinctively ("He's not a Peacekeeper!" "She's not a tralk!"). We like to think of Crichton as this noble hero, but he's made light of Chiana's promiscuity in the past. Not only that, but Farscape slang just sounded like so many silly words to him for the longest time. Now, he hears someone refer to Chiana as a tralk and immediately reacts to it as the misogynistic slur it is in the setting, and he won't have anyone call his friend that. 3) And finally, what I think is the most interesting interaction this episode: Jool's racism. She thinks highly of D'Argo, but tearfully admits that she thinks of him as an exception. It's easy to use this exchange to paint her as a racist - and she is - but it's also a really interesting example of the path that bigots have to walk to fight their own bigotry. As a gay man, it's real tempting to just dismiss homophobes as lost causes, but plenty of people who were raised in bigotry become better, and that road usually looks very similar. First, you think all people of Group X are lesser. Then you meet and befriend a member of Group X and think they're an exception. Then you realise that they aren't, and Group X are just more people like you. The fact that Jool is so tearful when she admits to her racism shows that she's actually a lot closer to that third stage than it might seem by her words, because she KNOWS she's wrong to feel that way. She's doing well, just a little further to go.

Commandant Cleavage, that is the nickname we went with back in 2002 - The character has some interesting origins. There is an old BBC sci-fi show from the late 70s, Blakes 7 which was created by Terry Nation, the guy who created the Daleks. There the bad guys were lead by Servalen, played by Jacqueline Pierce - while not as risqué, she definitive inspired the character and the look of Grayza. The show inspired a lot of Farscape actually. It dealt with a group of renegades and criminals who come into possession of an unknown alien battleship, and they begin a resistance to a fascist government. It was sort of a what if the Federation in Star Trek was actually an evil organization. It is very much of its time and has effects on par with the original Doctor Who (maybe a little better). If you ever decide to take on Classic Who, Blake's 7 might make an interesting companion piece when you get to the 70s era. As Nathaniel pointed out in his edit, the "previously" scene with Braca and Grayza was in fact not in any episode, but it was information the showrunners wanted the audience to have, but they had trouble incorporating it into Chricton Kicks. So they just put it here,

Ah good ol commandant cleavage. The old Farscape forum was a lot of fun to read after this episode first premiered. 😂

you’re totally right, it’s 100% assault. and what kind of impact, if any, does this have on our boy? farscape does love a villain redemption arc tho. fun fact: wayne was the one who came up with licking grayza’s boot. shocker lol. Nathanael you’re the best! thanks for everything you do 😁
