The Devil Wears Prada (Full Movie Reaction)

The Devil Wears Prada (Full Movie Reaction)

What I hate the most about Nate is that he made Andy feel incredibly bad for focusing on her career for a short time (it was just going to be one year), and then he goes and follows HIS dream job by moving to another city. Like... are you kidding me?!

Jessica Sarti

Except that she went in knowing it was a hard job with a 1 year deadline. They had all talked about and agreed that if she grinded it out and muscled through the gruel for 1 year, then she could work anywhere she wanted after that. So if the movie extended so she was staying there beyond that year or decided she was going to stay in it forever, then they might be on to something, but she wasn't even there for a whole year and was committed to leaving as soon as she'd done her time. For them to have such a dramatic "I don't even know you anymore" reaction to her after maybe 8 months *at most* of nice clothes and 1 missed birthday, when they KNEW that's what this 1 year of work was going to be, is utterly ridiculous. (Just my opinion)

I feel like no one in this movie is really completely wrong or right and I like that. I'm sorry but no one is perfect and do the right thing all the time. Everyone in this movie has their own agenda and feels their own way.

I enjoyed how you two were critical of the boyfriend's behavior from the jump. I think he might be the true antagonist of the movie. Miranda never conceals her nature: she's driven entirely by ambition, everyone around her is expendable in service to the magazine. Her boyfriend, though, he's supposed to be supportive. She's got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the premiere fashion magazine in the world. Of course it's going to mean a lot of late nights, missed dates, and absense - it's the sacrifice she's making for her future and that they are making for their future together, only he isn't down with giving a god damn inch. He's completely selfish. He undercuts her and devalues her work and her career choice. He's just so completely unsupportive.

Work it! More energy, more passion, more footwork!

I think the friends were half wrong AND half right. Andy DID sell her soul to the devil, but the part where they tease her and take her phone was not okay. At the end of the day, you have to decide what is more important:a work life balance or just work. And honestly, if you’re in a relationship, work should never come first.

Had to jump here to watch this after not seeing the ending + your outro in the youtube video. I think you guys are my fav reactions to this movie so far.

It was so fun watching this with yall. So glad yall didn’t like Nate either lol. Him and her friends kinda sucked.

I get really upset with how little empathy her friends and boyfriend show Andy while she is struggling to acclimate. Also, please, a chef in NY has no healthy work/life balance. 🫠

Hell yes. That one is fun and crazy!

Speaking of pretentious chefs… at the end…. Have you guys seen the Menu? If not… holy shit. That’s a must watch. It’ll do good on YouTube too.

I absolutely love this movie, but what I love even more is that you all enjoyed it too. Now you finally understand just how iconic Miranda really is. I don’t think the idea was ever to “redeem” her, she’s brilliant at what she does, and she knows it. Still terrifying, of course. I would not like to work for her. Andy kind of lost herself along the way, but in the end, her values pulled her back. Meanwhile, Miranda fully embraced her role, unapologetically, from start to finish. And poor Emily... she’s been through it, but she knows what she wants and is fighting for it. It’s a fun movie with some surprisingly subtle lessons, served with a side of designer heels and emotional chaos.
