So, this reaction is super old, but - the STD in Agust D's self-titled song is on purpose of course. This song is full of sexual double entendres. Among them are * D Boy (Because he is from Daegu) * Tongue Technology (a phrase he uses a lot. He also has used Flow Job.) * Send you to Hong Kong (A S. Korean euphemism for giving you an orgasm...with his tongue technology of course. Some translations have this phrase translated as "turn you on" but that's not what it means.) STD - Saying he is sexy/sexually transmitted, contagious and you are not getting rid of him. Remember this is a song for the haters. He is saying he is too sexy and will infect even them, whether they like it or not. He has also said in other songs that his voice bewitched his haters girlfriends and will make you climax no matter your gender, among other things.

As a hoarder with ADHD, bipolar II, anxiety, avoidant personality disorder, etc, it is important to me to open up discussion about all forms of mental illness - especially "secret" ones. I understand people can feel it is inappropriate to speculate. Possibly because it might uncover something kept secret out of shame or privacy, be meant as a slur, or be terms used so ignorantly and frequently that it distracts attention from real problems. The root of this norm, though, is that society continues to attach a sigma to mental illness to make people "lesser". Normalizing non-stigmatizing and informed discussion is essential, and I think we are on a slightly uncomfortable path to that goal. (Accelerated since the pandemic made all these "normal" people aware of how disorders feel.) Recognizing signs and adding up puzzle pieces through discussion is important - precisely because no one has exactly the same symptoms. Someone else with ADHD might not recognize it in him, but I see JK's constant self-soothing, and years of the things I mentioned in my original comment, and related. I brought all my own clinical experience to the table, and took his cultural work ethic and humility into account. I still feel safe in my "diagnosis". I wasn't speaking thoughtlessly or maliciously - it was from a place of love and hope that humans as a whole can learn to help each other. If I'm wrong, the conversation it might have opened up would still be worth putting myself out there. Someday, someone might be able to ask him - or anyone - hey, do you think you might have ADHD? and that could be explored as a solution to some issues, instead of feeling like an inherent failing. Often, getting a diagnosis feels better than not knowing why you are ill. It took 35 years for me to get accurate diagnosis I could work with to help myself and know what kind of help to ask for. I'm new to this community, and certainly don't want to upset anyone. I apologize for making you uncomfortable and won't bring this up here again. I'm still going to be a loud mouth elsewhere, though, and challenge the societal norm that mental illness is a weakness and something to be dealt with secretly instead of as a society. 😊

Yes, it was a first for me! Plus I had been a babysitter before I started working at the same place as her so I had pretty much no friends anymore(unless I counted the kids I watched lol!) I’m a home body most the time so I’d work than just go home. I’m also thankful that I’ve found these amazing reactors like Michael and a few others that bring me happiness! And I get to talk to other ARMYs like yourself!!😊

You can tell that they were making more money as the episodes go along with the quality and the types of things they get to do, from tearing open a bag of chips with their feet to playing table tennis with an Olympic athlete and professional gamers. 🤣 Some episodes are more iconic than others but every episode is such a pleasure to watch! The only episode I don’t recommend is one where they’re in a hotel room during a tour playing a board game that no one understood how to play and I don’t think the tannies did either. 🤣

Sorry this is long, I'm writing it as I watch. Film out is so good, it was made for a Japanese drama called Signal, that has elements of time travel. You gotta hear it live someday!!! Same, I'm not a big fan of Charlie. And I wasn't the biggest fan of Left & Right at first either, I of course loved Jk's voice as always though lol! It has since grown on me, but if Jk wasn't on this song I wouldn't have listened to it(Honestly I don't even go looking for it, but if it comes on I can vibe to it now). When you get the chance you should totally watch the behind the scenes of Jk recording his parts, it's so sweet!😊 I love your reaction to Jk's lips showing up!!! You are definitely ARMY and Jk biased, lol! And gosh, Jk looks so good here! So for BTS's variety show, called Run BTS, the guys do lots of different things, mostly play games(Win prizes and received hilarious penalties) and sometimes they film skits/ short dramas, that's what the Dalbang Dorm drama is. Someday you should watch the Run BTS episodes of them filming this drama, it starts on ep. 73 and ends ep. 76, the guys are just so funny!!! I love all the inside jokes they added, like RM breaking things easily, Suga sleeping and being like a rock, and J-Hope wanting everything to be clean!🤣 On another of their shows called BTS Gayo, they once had to pick one of their songs without an MV and film it themselves in a hotel lol! The song was called Spine Breaker and I can't wait for you to react to it, if you haven't already! I hope someone can request you to watch a video of when BTS playing the whisper chalange from a Run BTS ep, where they listen to music and wear headphones, then try to guess the word the member in the front is saying. Jin was the MC so he had to guess the words correctly at the end for both teams. Personally, I feel like Suga spelled out Agust D like that intentionally, especially paired with the "Send you to Hong Kong" line given that that is Korean slang for making you orgasm! 😂 This Jk memories video is basically a love letter to Jk from all his hyungs(Older brothers)!!! 😭😭😭 Aww, I loved Pentatonix's cover of these BTS songs! Dear Evan Hansen the Broadway musical is amazing and has some of my fave artists involved with that show. The movie was not good but we got this version from Dan + shay & carrie underwood and one from tori Kelly. The version of this song between Ben Platt and Kaitlyn Denver is actually pretty sweet even tho is doesn't come close to the original version between Ben Platt and Laura Dreyfuss which you can watch their version on YouTube. There's a couple of songs from Jordan Fisher and the other girl that did the role after Laura which is pretty good too and the cast performances on the today show and gma singing you will be found are just amazing. Kelly Clarkson did a cover of one of this songs for her kellyoke on her show. Chills. Def I recommend you to listen to the og Broadway cast album and some of their live performances as well as jordan fisher one and tori Kelly version of waving through a window...

yea I think its hard to tell if that std was intentional or not, but I definitely had the same thought as you! I think this interpretation makes a lot of sense in this context and normally nothing yoongi does is in his music unintentional.. but I also see the argument that he's not fluent and maybe doesn't even know about it since I for example am fluent but english isn't my native language and until someone pointed out what std means I didn't knew this either.. so yea idk its not easy to tell

I don't really think it's a double entendre. I just think as English speakers, it's hard to remember that Suga is Korean and did not speak fluent English at all when this song came out. So it may make us think of one thing, and to him it's literally spelling out his name the same way a lot of rappers did back in the day.

Daegu Town is actually reference to the rap group he used to be in. Daegu is a big city and I've never really heard it referred to as "Daegu Town" or "D-Town". That is actually the name of his rap group, which is named after where they are all from, Daegu. So while it is still a reference to where he is from, it's more specifically referencing his old rap group. Also, I definitely don't think the 'STD' thing is intentional. I think an English speakers, people tend to forget that Suga is Korean and did not speak English fluently at all back when this song was released. Just like how certain Korean words or German or Japanese words may sound like certain words to us, or how English words sound like certain words in Korean, I think it's literally him just spelling out his name like many rappers did back in the day.

Actually, my least favorite was probably left and right 🤣 I love my baby star candy jk but I have similar feelings to you about it. LMAOOO i see you embracing the "A to the G to the U to the STD" by the end, we've all been there, it's just too catchy :p For context, the line just after that says "i'll send you to Hong Kong with my tongue technology". The tongue technology is obviously is rapping technique, but sending someone to HK is a slang in korea to say "make someone c*me", so that whole line is a sexual metaphor/double entendre, so maybe the STD line is to continue the scheme, maybe not, but anyways he gets away with it and we all end up singing it at the top of our lungs anyway lol

Oh my god yes People is such a vibe and one of my favorite songs from Yoongi (which is saying something!). The lyrics are so comforting to me and his flow, singing, and production are top tier as usual... I love how you got stuck on the "hum hum hum" part, i love it a lot as well, i think Yoongi really has an ear for how random sounds/adlibs will sound and how it can compliment the message/vibe/beat. He uses onomatopoeias or sounds like laughter or breathing a lot in his production to give it a certain feel. And if you focus on him live, you'll hear him add random adlibs (like "woo!, hah!, hiyah! and things like that) in the background in upbeat songs and it makes the songs feel much more alive!! i love to try and notice those when i watch then live although it's easir to pinpoint with fancams since you can actually see him do them ^^

I'm getting to watching the reactions to other artists and just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experiences. You don't have to do that, but it is appreciated and shows so much heart. As someone from Kentucky, I just wanted to say that there are people fighting against that hatred even in the most backward of places. I don't know if that is comforting at all ... just often the world feels hopeless, but knowing there are people in any location that are fueled by love rather than hate helps keep going and moving forward.

That Maggie Rogers song is called Alaska, and the production includes a lot of sounds she recorded while hiking and camping and basically experiencing nature. Pharrell was so blown away he told her he wouldn't really change anything and Maggie basically put this version out, and it was HUGE. I still listen to it all the time.

I'm always so amazed when I see that BTS concert performance with so many upbeat songs and keeping those vocals stable. Just how!? I run out of breath just seeing it. Film Out has a lot of parallels with past videos from BTS (especially with Fake Love). I'm sure you've read comments before about the BU, where some of their videos interconnect to create a story that involves time travel and/or? alternate universes. Even though Film Out is not officially marked as part of that storyline; the floating doors do make me think of doors to other universes. I don't know that's how I interpreted that scene. Ok for the Agust D interpretation. First a few things: - Agust D is actually DT Suga spelled backwards. DT comes from Daegu Town, where Suga is from. Which he also references in the lyrics when he says "I'm D boy because I'm from the D". - In South Korea they use "take you to Hong Kong" as euphemism for making someone orgasm. So when he says "I'll take you to Hong Kong with my tongue technology" yeah his rap... or tongue technology will make them cum. - So once having that context, my personal interpretation of not separating the STD from his spelling is that his rap habilities (and therefore envy from others) could spread as fast, and also make haters sick. Especially because later in the song he tells the haters "when you loose your only asset, health". But that's me I don't know what other armys think about it. It could also not be intentional because it's not like English is his main language. But being him... I feel it must have some intention behind it. Anyway Jungkook through the other member eyes had me with the goofiest smile. I adore them all so much. We all have a bias and when we least expect it everyone else has become a bias wrecker.

Just some clarification for you since I know we throw out a lot of websites. 🤣 So there is vlive and Weverse. Vlive started in 2015 and it has run episodes, live streams, album release parties, etc. Vlive is through a different company, but bighit/Hybe has now made Weverse, their own version and just recently they have started doing their lives on there. Weverse I believe now has all of the run episodes uploaded on it, but all of the lives from vlive have not been transferred to Weverse (things like joonie/rm’s album reviews, after concert chats, etc). On Weverse you can find most of their content like the bon voyage seasons and in the soop, some for free some for pay. The most recent run episodes were put on vlive, Weverse, and YouTube. The YouTube page BangtanTV has been used since predebut so it is the longest used compared to vlive and Weverse and has the Bangtan bombs (behind the scenes stuff some short, some longer. The longer ones are usually for major events like a recent one was the Grammys and it showed the process from not knowing if they’ll be able to perform to practicing and after it) and dance practices. Oooh, I've never seen that Miley and Noah performance before. What a lovely way to start my morning! YES more Marianas Trench! The soundscape of End of an Era is so engaging and beautiful, and the vocals are obviously fantastic. This album really went through the breakdown of Josh's long-time relationship; since around 2004 he'd written all his love songs about one person, and around the time he was writing this album they were breaking up, so throughout this song (and the album as a whole) there are lyrical and melodic callbacks to songs going all the way back to the beginning of the band's career (sometime after this album released, he and this woman got married, so apparently everything worked out in the end and it wasn't as much of an "end of an era" as everyone thought lol). As a Trencher, there are a lot of little things to pick up on and notice that wouldn't seem significant to someone not familiar with their discography. Now, that being said, the fact that they were able to create an album like that, that still is deeply enjoyable to people who aren't familiar with them, is amazing to me, truly. Marianas Trench was formed in the early 2000s, but they didn't release their first album until 2006, so they've been doing this together for a looong time. They're pretty well-known in Canada; they've been to the MuchMusic awards and the Junos, and they get radio airplay here when they drop singles. But outside of Canada, I think they have more of a cult following, small but very dedicated. They released a YouTube doc in 2020 I think about their most recent run of tours in the states and some struggles they were having with their American label that was really interesting. I hope people keep requesting them! I don't like to repeat the musicians I request too often so you might not get any more of Marianas Trench from me for a while, but I really hope other people keep requesting them for you <3 Always good to see more ptx! Correct me if I’m wrong. but that song is top tier for me. - RUN BTS is so FUNNY, WHOLESOME and HILARIOUS. I am a big fan of comedy, and I have watched so many comedy shows/movies and let me say, RUN BTS is top tier, they are so hilarious I might die from laughing. - I didn’t know I needed a jungkook euphoria acoustic until it was released, the vocals are insane but also topped by a loving video by the other members. That’s our golden maknae (maknae = youngest ) - BTS PTD concert is available on Disney+, you would know all the songs in this concert since it only goes back to The Most Beautiful Moment in Life. But they also are having a free concert at Busan, where you can watch it live on Weverse for free.

He did these album reviews and stories a long time ago. Also in this jk birthday live Jin showed up drunk to give jk expensive grapes, reveals himself to the camera by popping up from behind a sink, sticks said grapes all over JK’s birthday cake, goes on a rant about being better than the other members because he came to wish him a happy bday in person, lays behind said sink and says he is sleeping there, gives him a few drunk 'I love you man' style hugs and leaves. Jk is too stunned to speak afterwards 🤣🤣 never a dull moment with that one.

Ugh the songs from Dear Evan Hansen are so good, but yeah the movie had some shortcomings for sure and I understand not wanting to invest so much time into it. I wish they’d release something like Hamilton, I’m hoping that will happen more and more so everyone can enjoy the original story! There is not a doubt in my mind that Jungkook has ADHD and may be undiagnosed. He's always feeling bad about not concentrating and not focusing on something long enough to really master it. He's so talented at so many things that he can get by doing those things well without really perfecting them. He's a generalist with attention issues, and that gets misunderstood in society as flighty or frivolous. Thank goodness he's in the idol business and got to do singing, dancing, producing, filming, writing, etc etc etc so he didn't get pigeonholed.

I came looking to make sure someone explained. I'm so disappointed that video skipped the entire intro! Her talking about her journey through Rutland rave/club music and (likely drug induced, since she looked totally stoned here lol) epiphanies that got her mixing sounds and beats in a style that finally fit her. I was obsessed with Alaska after seeing this. Pharrell had been underwhelmed throughout the session, but the prof had saved the best 'til last with her. I kinda felt a little bad for the other students, but - just like V's friend who didn't make the cut at the Big Hit audition, it wasn't their moment. Watching Pharrell try to contain himself, face contorting as his mind was blown, was so darned cool. Just a really genuine, history-making moment that was the catalyst for her career. I can't believe it was caught on camera, and it should never have been clipped like this.

'Agust D' the song is also from 2015/2016, so it's a much younger Suga than the one who wrote 'People' in 2019/2020 - it was more when he was young and angry. I've seen some people think he's doing 'STD' on purpose, because the line following means 'I'm going to make you orgasm with my tongue technology' ('send you to Hong Kong is slang for giving someone a good time), and in other parts of the song he makes sexual references... but it could also, and possibly more likely, be the case that he did not know that the acronym STD means something specific in English.

For Agust D 'People' - the lyric translation I read translated that part as "My ordinary is your extraordinary" and "Your ordinary is my extraordinary" - basically, to most people, Suga's life seems exceptional and special and amazing, but to him it's just ordinary life; meanwhile, he looks at people who AREN'T famous artists and thinks THAT life is the special one, because it's one that he can't have. My interpretation of the song is that people are people, no matter what lives they live - any life you live becomes your "ordinary" life and other people's lives seem special because they aren't yours... but in the end, that's just how people are, and he's no different.

In the first video, what Jimin said to JK in Korean was from JK’s words. JK said "If I must think of one thing that I’m not good at.." in Korean. Jimin thought the word JK used ‘if I must ~ one thing’(굳이 하나 Guji hana) was funny so he repeated the word because it unintentionally sounds like ‘Oh I have to think deeply to come up with just one thing that I’m not good at..’ in Korean.

I've been a big Maggie Rogers fan for a while, so I think I can help out with some of the info you were asking about! Maggie was a student at NYU when that session was filmed, and I believe Pharell was an artist in residence that year (or something similar to that). The whole session had him giving feedback to multiple students, but Maggie was the only person who received no notes! Hi Michael! BTS will have a free concert in Busan on October 15th at 6 pm KST (not sure what time zone you’re in, but that’s 5 am EDT for me). It will stream for free on Weverse, so if you’re interested in watching and/or reacting I would recommend setting up a Weverse account if you haven’t already. It will only be about 1.5 hours (their concerts are usually 2.5-3 hours). If you do get a Weverse account you can also check out their lives. I would recommend JK’s most recent one for his birthday on 9/1. He likes to sing a lot during his lives, so whether you react or just watch on your own for fun I think you would enjoy it a lot. Their lives always leave me in a great mood! Like others have said, PTD LA is now available on Disney+ and it is amazing! Couldn’t agree with you more about the comment you made about watching celebrity content and how a lot of celebs leave you wanting to see less of them. The members of BTS are the only celebrities I have seen that have lived up to the hype, made me want to continue to see more, and never left me questioning if they are good people or not.

Just an idea here, but since you were commenting on loving seeing BTS concert footage, their Permission To Dance LA Day 2 show is now on Disney+ I would love to see a special reaction to the entire show. It has translations for all the songs and when they talk. The crowd noise is filtered out so you can really hear all their vocals and ad libs during the performances. Also includes some behind the stage scenes. You would absolutely love it!!!

Ahh yes, isn’t suga/Yoongi/agust do’s voice just so wonderful? During the worst of being locked up during covid he did a radio show (and had a different member on each week) and I would use they to fall asleep because his voice was just so calming. That’s our baby star candy jk 🥺 Just a reminder that baepsae is about society and the hip thrusts, though yes meant to drive people crazy I’m sure, is also a well placed f u gesture to boomers who say the younger generation just aren’t trying hard enough. I agree that People is such a beautiful song especially because of how open it is to interpretation and how applicable it is to everyones' lives in its own unique way. I have seen the mediocrity and specialty part translated as "your being oridinary is rather my being special, your being special is rather my being ordinary." Yoongi has said in a docuseries that with fame he has lost the ordinary so that what's ordinary to others is very special to him, while what's special to others is very ordinary to him and how this has altered his values. Just adds another perspective to this song! Film out became one of my favorite BTS songs; the production and vocals are so beautiful. I would love to see you react to the live version (it's incredible), but if not I would highly recommend to watch it on your own time. The run episode that clip is from is sooo hilarious. Leading up to that it just shows them planning it and filming it. Jimin and Yoongi/Suga bickering is top tier in it. 🤣 They love each other very much but they bicker in run often. I know you said you want more directed/acting stuff (check out house of army … or I wouldn’t be surprised if someone ends up requesting it) but please believe us when we say run bts is pure happiness.
