I haven't seen anyone mention it, but the actor who plays Grey Worm is a rapper as well. I think you'd enjoy his music 😊 His stage name is Raleigh Ritchie.

Jenny D

How has he watched the opening theme for seven seasons and has not realized that Dragonstone is an ISLAND?

Kathryn

also highly recommend the channel GrayArea for history and lore/episode breakdowns, i love her stuff!

Kerry

There's a great youtube channel called alt shift x that covers every episode of GOT and also goes into some cool history and lore, like the doom of valyria and different events that happened differently in the book than the show. i would definitely stay away from anything concerning the dance of the dragons though because that def has spoilers for HotD!

Kerry

I love Dany and Jon so much! These episodes are some of my favorites! Do you know when the HSMTMTS s3 commentary may be up? :)

JT

when bran says "chaos is a ladder" he's repeating the same phrase littlefinger said to varys when they were talking about the iron throne in season 3

Cersei killed Ellaria's daughter the exact same way that Ellaria killed Myrcella. With the posion on the lips, remember when Ellaria kissed Myrcella before she got on the boat?

Dany has always been my least favorite of the “good” characters. Her dragons are badass but she’s always having to be talked off the ledge ever since season two. I feel like I wasted ten years of my life in Meereen for that storyline. IMO John is too good for her. And you’re right, Sansa deserves some respect on her name.

Short note - Commander Mormont (Geor Mormont) saw the white walkers. He was Jorah Mormont’s dad, then k-worded at Craster’s Keep in the mutiny

Amanda Sargent

He's probably working on them, however, the Mets have playoff games going on right now so I'm sure he's focused on that right now lol but I can't wait for the custom requests :)

These episodes are satisfying because so much that we've been waiting for for 7 seasons happens but it's overwhelming because it's SO MUCH at once. I mean so many people died or were captured, so many armies decimated, so many reunions or meetings, lots of plot lines pushed way forward. It's a lot. I hope you're able to keep up well and take time to take everything in. Also, I was just thinking it's so interesting how everyone always gets drawn to different people. My faves are Theon, Sansa, Davos, Pod, Greyworm, and Gilly. I liked Margery a lot too. I tend to be drawn to characters who are generally good/well-intentioned while still being pragmatic and I tend to avoid the overly righteous. This seems to be quite different from your lineup. But again, I think that's cool that this show has so many strong actors playing strong, dynamic characters, that they all have their fans.

The one defense I have about dany and Jon is that they don’t actually know they’re related, so I guess it makes it better? Idk after reading the books and watching both shows incest has become normalized, as crazy as it sounds🫣

kerry berry

also loved to see you getting hype for the meeting of Jon and Dany. they are both some of my favorites characters and i remember being just as excited as you were!

cass

really love your appreciation for Bran’s whole story line because it seems like a lot of people forgot how much he went through from literally the first episode until now. i just find his whole arc so fascinating with all the three eyed raven stuff, though i do miss the Bran we knew in seasons 1-4/6. It’s sad that he lost a lot of his personality bc a large part of him did die in that cave, but his importance to the overall story still stands

cass

Bran really died in that cave :( Ah yes, the conflicting emotion of shipping the aunt and her nephew XD I had actually forgotten this last battle happened! It was so good seeing the Dothraki fight like that in their full glory.

Nymeria !! This scene confused me too when I first watched it and even on my first rewatch, until I saw others explaining too, haha. "That's not you" is a direct parallel of what Arya says to Ned in S1 in King's Lading. He is explaining to her how she will grow up to marry a lord and have his children and she replies "No. That's not me." Arya offers for Nymeria to come home with her, but when Nymeria leaves Arya realizes that it's been too long and Arya/Winterfell isn't Nymeria's home anymore. Sad but touching moment and nice reference of how Arya has grown into who she wants to be, just like her direwolf has grown to be the wild animal that she truly is. Also nice to have the mystery of if Nymeria lived after Arya sent her away to be answered. (Arya sent her away when Nymeria bit Joffery because Arya knew they would kill her. That is when Ned had to kill Lady, Sansa's wolf, instead, because Cersei is the awful person she is and demanded retribution even though it wasn't Lady's indiscretion) I would never spoil HOTD for you so I promise this comment does not give any tip-offs as far as plot goes for the show! Just wanted to make that clear haha. But I'm glad you noted Balerion the Dread's name. Any Targaryen notes you take might be beneficial for when you start HOTD, as there will be a lot of new names and what-not, especially when you consider that all dragons have their own name too hehe.

Jenna

I also loved finding this out when ST4 came out!

Jenna

Went to bed early last night and woke up to this notification! Yay!! Hope you’ve been doing well Michael! 🤍

Mike, you really have to remember that Danerys is Jon's aunt. Rhaegar was Dany's brother and Jon's father. Rhaegar died before this series started, so I think perhaps this relation is a bit out of sight, out of mind. Rhaegar is not to be confused with Viserys, Dany's brother who arranged her marriage with Khal Drogo. The building that Cersei blew up was called the sept. "Sept" means seven. There are seven new gods represented by a seven-pointed star. The people who serve the gods (essentially priests and nuns) are called septons and septas. If it helps, September used to be the seventh month, hence the name. I keep meaning to post this tidbit. Theon Greyjoy is played by Alfie Allen, brother to pop star Lily Allen. David Harbour married Lily Allen a couple of years ago, so Theon and Hopper are brothers-in-law. 😍

The bittersweet reunion between the stark children. It's been so long🥺 I love seeing the Dothraki charging in on their horses then Daenery swooping in on Drogon is so epic. Goosebumps!! Dothraki are said to be born, fight, and die in the saddle. I'm sure they have been waiting to fight for a long time .

Custom requests??

Aninha Silva

HELL YEAH TED LASSO!! handles all the heavy stuff so well, definitely my #1 fav show ;)

sett4r

alsoooo fun fact, one of the guards at winterfell that arya was trying to get past was the same actor who played eddie from stranger things! i didn't realize until someone pointed it out, and now when i watch it back it's so obvious

kerry berry

It’s random but when this is finished, please watch Ted Lasso! You need a light hearted show after all the heavy stuff plus the actor who played the “shame” character septa unella!! X She’s also in sex education x

Rosielauren xo

i wish dany and jon were my parents i won’t lie

onlyastarion

omg perfect I just finished watching the last one, i never watched GOT, but started the series with you and now i’m hooked! But also i haven’t seen anyone comment this before, did you know that Taylor based/got inspiration on a ton of Reputation songs about Arya, Sansa, and Dany?

Allison V
