Game Of Thrones 7x5, 7x6, 7x7 Full Reactions

I would like to announce myself as officially adopted by Dany & Jon 💕

Sorry if the audio levels seem off (loud or low), I was working on something prior to this video & didn't change it back! Shouldn't be terrible

Game Of Thrones 7x5, 7x6, 7x7 Full Reactions

Comments

I haven’t seen season 7 and 8, because I was told how it all went down and agreed that it was stupid and can already see for myself how it’s falling apart 😕 Also I will never be ok with incest , I don’t care that it’s fiction it’s still gross đŸ€ą

Bangtan is life

What happened was the writers got offered positions on writing the next Star Wars movie so they rushed this so much not to mention that the book series this is based on has not even been completed yet and the author calling everything after the point where the books ended "badly written fanfiction". Karma got to them in the end though because after seeing what a shit show the last season was they were removed from the star wars project.

Kathryn

How many times does Daenerys have to clearly friendzone Jorah for this guy to realize Daenerys has never and will never be interested in him?! Not to mention the fact that Jorah is canonically 35 years older than her and she is supposed to be a teenager?! Dude women can be friends with men without it being romantic or sexual.

Kathryn

also really funny of him to say he wouldn't make an oath he would'nt keep when he broke the one he made at The Wall literally the night of and then broke all the promises he made to Ygritte as well so yeah

Giu Bressani

I'm finally catching up with the episodes and well, once again we have Jon being saved by a woman, after ignoring what said woman tried to say and deciding on a stupid plan he pulled out of his ass just because he wanted to play hero <3 Ygritte was never wrong, Jon Snow really knows nothing at all! Congrats on being stupid and costing Dany a dragon, Jon Snow!!

Giu Bressani

I always go on this rant!!! D&D frustrated me!!

Dani May

the real problem is the last season. i think that they fucked it up the characters development, i dont know if they wanted to shock the audience, but it was incoherent

moon

You need to watch the reunion and behind the scenes of GOT afterwards. There’s the behind. The scenes which is them shooting the last season which is so good plus their reunion show!! X

Rosielauren xo

Also can we talk about how Sansa had a front row seat to Joffrey, Ramsay, AND Baelish’s deaths?? Do not get on her bad side!

ipsssen

Jenna thank you so much this was so great to read today, I appreciate you endlessly, I really do <3

INSANE

Michael Beveraggi

the thing I hated most about the show and the fans is how they constantly try to put Daenerys' narrative as a bloodthirsty lunatic, all of the characters are extremely violent and she was the only person who literally freed slaves, thousands of slaves. dany deserves better

moon

I always find it so crazy that Tyrion and Varys have that whole convo questioning Dany's ethics when she executes two lords (one of whom is a terrible human--he called Gilly an "it" to her face when he found out she was a wildling) who were military leaders of the warring opposition after giving them multiple chances to avoid that fate, and then Tyrion turns around and applauds Gendry for hammering in two guards' faces who were just doing their job. Like the hypocrisy. I love Tyrion but I was literally like "what??" Wild. haha

SNBangtan

I'm just now realizing all of us are pronouncing Daenerys wrong! The Valyrian names that end with "ys", which we see a lot of in the Targaryen family tree (one of the older ancestors name is Aenys so you can see why distinction is veeeery important) should be pronounced "ees", so I would assume it's pronounced, "de-nair-ees"! I could be completely off base but pronunciation is very tricky with this universe, the author of the books George RR Martin pronounces stuff differently than how the characters say it in the show so I guess it's up to the audience's interpretation!

Kerry

It's a small thing, but I really enjoy the way George R.R. Martin uses the letters J and G. If someone's name starts with a J (Joffrey, Jeor, Jorah, Jaqen, Jojen) they make the J sound. If a name starts with a G, (Gendry, Grenn, Greyjoy, Gilly) they start with the hard G sound. He is also consistent with the letter Q (Qyburn, Qarth, Jaqen) making a K sound.

Julie B

Only one more season to go!! I think a lot of fans felt like you've said, it's not fair and so fast. It's so rushed and like some people have said, some characters actions and plots just don't make sense to me. The whole white walker dragon thing was awesome, I remember when I first watched it I thought "If before it was going to be so hard to beat them, now even more so.. " And they have the giant too!! Baileish death was so satisfying! Can't wait for you to finish the series, so it can be more commentary about the ending and other things. Also I feel you are going to love HOTD! It's so good!!! :) Thanks for a great reaction Michael!

TalĂa Caraveo

I think deep down no one wants the show to be over so they feel angst and try to find reasons why. On rewatched, people and ravens move just as fast in season 1 sometimes. It just depends whether anything significant happens to them on the journey from A to B, because they only show us what truest matters, and everything they show adds up to something later.

Amanda Sargent

You at the start of the video: I hope Arya kills Littlefinger! Me: đŸ˜łđŸ˜¶

ipsssen

The confusion you feel about the name Aegon is sooo effing funny and relevant, for those who know what I'm talking about know what I'm talking about! The context is spoilery for another show so it's for the best you don't know why it's funny.

Ersin GĂŒnay

The way you kept saying how stupid of a plan was for them to go get a dead-alive body beyond the wall represents me. It was a such a pointless plan, especially seeing it didn't do anything for Cersei. At least Dany got to see them and make up her mind, I guess that's the only good thing that came out of that. This season's finale was on movie theaters and seeing The Wall's destruction by blue fire was an experience.

Mariana

I personally think you enjoy the show as I did. A lot of people hate the last 2 seasons but I think they are still very enjoyable. It's literally the last two episodes (last episode and a half) that are bad. I don't think the entire seasons are terrible though.

Chuck

Answering your big question and helping you out as requested haha (edited for clarity)... I definitely didn’t intend this to be this long either
apologies. But don’t worry, you have a handle of the most important details of the reveal! I'll still spell everything out below so there’s no confusion. Until this episode we didn’t know that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark were actually in love and married, as this was revealed to be the truth by Sam and Bran. It’s my understanding that Lyanna was secretive about her relationship with Rhaegar (1) because the Targaryens very rigid about who they married, in order to make the strongest match to keep their lineage powerful and indisputable. (2) At the time of the Mad King, the Targaryens and their rule were especially disliked by many people of Westeros because of how the Mad King was. If Lyanna’s honorable brother and her betrothed (Robert Baratheon) found out she was in a relationship and got secretly married, especially to a Targaryen, there would have been an uproar on all accounts, and I think that’s putting it lightly? I also assume that Lyanna’s pregnancy and the marriage must have happened a little bit before the war, because there would’ve had to have been time for the gestation of the baby for it to be viable outside of the womb, especially with their limited medical assistance for labor. Then Lyanna died from childbirth, and before she died, Ned found her and she told him that the name she gave the baby was Aegon Targaryen and clued Ned in that the baby was true-born (and that she had married Rhaegar Targaryen). Lyanna then made it her dying wish to Ned to promise her to protect her baby, because she knew King Robert and all those rallied against the Targaryen’s would come after the baby (just like Robert came after Dany when she began gaining power). To protect the baby and keep this promise to his dead sister, Ned had to lie and say he had had a bastard child during the war (who he called Jon) and had to say that Lyanna was raped and killed by Rhaegar. This made Robert Baratheon feel even more convicted and entitled to overthrow the Targaryen’s, as Lyanna was the love of Robert’s life, that he didn’t get to be with, because she was believed to be killed (and so he married Cersei when he took over). On top of Robert’s own feelings about the lie about Lyanna’s death, technically the Targaryen’s could have been seen as conquerors who didn’t rightfully belong on the throne anyways, because 170+ years ago Aegon the Conqueror started his own war and usurped the Iron Throne from the previous ruling family (more on his motivations of conquering talked about in HotD). Rhaegar Targaryen was Dany’s older brother, the heir first in line to the throne after their father, the Mad King. Before this episode, we were still led to believe that Jon was born from Lyanna being r-worded. So, yes, we thought Jon was a bastard, born out of wedlock, with no claim to any titles. However, yes, because Rhaegar and Lyanna were actually married we now know Jon was not a bastard at all, but a true born Targaryen. This would “technically'' make him the most “rightful” heir to the Iron Throne, if you’re abiding by Westerosi beliefs and succession traditions that the first born son of a wedded couple is their rightful heir to their inheritance and titles. Most importantly, you are correct to assume that this would “technically” mean Jon has a more “rightful” claim to be on the throne even over Dany. As the succession rules would’ve had it: Rhaegar was first in line and then Viserys, Dany’s brother who we saw in S1. Traditionally, Dany wouldn’t have had any claim to the throne, as she was a girl, and if all three men (Mad King, Rhaegar, Viserys) died on their own, the throne would go to the next closest male relative. As is it believed that Dany is the last Targaryen, it muddys the rule of succession, and those that believe the Targaryens are technically still entitled to the throne would mostly accept Dany as the rightful heir, since there is no one else. But now we, the audience, know that there is someone else with a claim to the throne
not only some with a better claim, but a man at that
so it will definitely be interesting to see who finds out the truth, how they react to it, and what they want to do with it
heheh I think that’s all you really need to know and more hahah. Hope this helps! A big big piece of advice, especially for HotD: remember that names are really re-used and passed down. I'd suggest taking good notes, and wouldn't even blame you if you paused to write them down hahahah.

Jenna

is that why bronn and podrick randomly leave before the meeting starts hahaha

engraved

I'm glad you're able to see the problems while also saying fuck it this is fun and just enjoy it. That's the attitude that will keep you enjoying it. Everyone knows the issues and some choose to let that ruin it entirely for them and that's fine too but I was never one of them. Life is too short to hate on something obsessively. And anyway most of those haters are back on board with HoT D so I'm looking forward to you watching that next.

Joey

I feel like this comment might be slightly leading, if not spoiler-y. Maybe editing to just suggest watching the show with the lights out and a good screen would suffice? I’m sorry, I don’t intend this to sound rude, we just know Michael doesn’t like to be lead about future plot at all 😅 I agree with your suggestion whole-heartedly, though!

Jenna

I’m so glad you enjoyed this season, and there were still so many instances where your commentary had me literally laughing out loud. You have easily become one of my most favorite reactors ever to watch, whether it’s reactions of something on screen or to music. I really appreciate your honestly about your feelings towards things but at the same time your openness to let yourself enjoy a really wide range of things. Especially with tv and film, it seems to me like you have an amazing understanding for what level of acceptance/understanding you have to be at for every different story, and how far you should stretch it verses knowing when something really fell far from where it is and when it could be criticized fairly. (Such as: you are able to watch both JATP and GoT with full appreciation for both medias, with almost no flippancy about JATP being a kids show and therefore less deserving of any credit of the talent and depth that was put into the show). You tend to not seem overly critical of media you aren’t used to or wouldn’t tend to enjoy/seek out in your own free time, while remaining truthful about how a piece of art makes you feel and what you think. This is kind of unnecessarily long winded, but I was really thinking all of this just now, after reading the wide range of comments left on this GoT installment. I’m also just a naturally long winded person, thank you ADHD! Almost no piece of media (that I’ve ever seen) is perfect without any room for improvement, at least due to the fact that while some might think it’s perfect, others may not because of personal preference for the way in which writers can choose for their stories to play out. Some people like or even prefer face paced stories with cliche tropes. đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïž When I first watched GoT the shortcomings of the last two seasons were almost imperceptible to me, because I love(d) the characters and their stories so much and just ate that shit up so fast. Upon my third rewatch, does some of s7 and s8 feel like fan service? Sure. Is fan service always a bad thing? I wouldn’t say so. I want to wait to leave any further summary of my thoughts until you’re finished with GoT, but I just wanted to say my piece above, at least. So many people love this show, and so many people have very strong thoughts on the last fraction of the show. It’s also taken me a couple rewatches to feel less convicted and indignant about my stronger opinions of the ending of the show. I don’t think s7 and 8 being majority decided among fans to be not-as-good as the rest of the show has to mean someone can’t enjoy them. When I first watched, I had almost zero qualms or thought anything negative about how the story was playing out (
until the very very end maybe, and even then I know some people who didn’t dislike how the show came to a close at all). I was glad you picked up on the dragon pit being what it was, because I certainly didn’t when I first watched GoT. If they hadn’t have pointed out that it was Sam’s dad and brother who died, Im sure we would’ve helped you out, hahah. As far an name prononciation goes? I knew you knew who everyone important was, and nagging you for every time you got an inflection or vowel wrong wasn’t as important to me as making sure you had the story of each character straight hahah. Also, your appreciation for the dead dragon was not in-line with how that occurrence makes me feel (it almost breaks my heart, especially for Dany), but I understand that it is also just plain cool. Even watching your reactions, and this being my 3rd-ish rewatch, I have been understanding for the first time some sub plot points and dialogue that I’ve missed in the past! All this to say, I continue to be very interested to see your reaction and hear your thoughts moving forward, as always, because I value them so much after having watched you for some time now! I’m on the edge of my seat, as always, and am also super excited you’ll be moving on to HOTD afterwards! Ahhh!!

Jenna

Since you’ll be watching the next 3 episodes at once, I have a tiny non-spoiler suggestion for you. When you get to episode 3 of season 8, turn off all the lights in the room, and watch it on the biggest ultra high definition OLED screen you can find. Why? Because the entire episode was filmed at night, and a big complaint was that people could barely see what was happening on screen. Watching it on an OLED makes a world of difference! If not this time, definitely rewatch it like that. It’s so so so good that way!

John Brady

Your final words explained what happened to the show perfectly, it just didn't feel fair... and that is the predominant feeling that most of the people have when we discuss the way that this show ended. I don't think that the way it ended was the problem, but the huge amount of issues that could be avoided but are still present. You started to notice some gaps in the writing and some illogical events happening, and the main reason is that the original material (Game of Thrones is based on a book series as you may know) was already exhausted when season 6 started and the showrunners had to write the last seasons by their own. They were excellent adapting the books to the tv screen as we saw in seasons 1 to 5 but they were pretty bad at writing their own original script and this is even more evident in the final season. Another big issue was the pacing of the events and it can be seen in this season (which has less episodes), so they had to compress the story so much and that created a lot of illogical events such like Dany arriving to the north in a matter of hours. They spent a day to arrive to the frozen lake, but Gendry was already in the wall by the evening and next morning the raven crossed half continent and Daenerys as well... while the dead were just conveniently waiting there. Everything is just rushed, let me just list the main events of this season real quick to put it in perspective: Arya kills all the Freys, Dany arrives to Dragonstone, Jon and Dany met, they went beyond the wall to trap a white walker, they met Cersei, Theon betrays Yara, Olenna dies, Dany destroys the Lannister army, Tyrion and Jaime met, Cersei is pregnant, Thoros dies, Uncle Benjen dies, Jon and Dany fall in love, Viseryon dies and turns into a zombie dragon, Baelish dies, confirmation that Jon is a Targaryen, The Wall falls... and much more in 7 episodes! It's just too much and unfortunately the ultimate responsables were HBO and the writers. They just wanted to wrap this up as soon as possible since it was too big for them and they already had an offer to work in a new Star Wars trilogy so they wanted to finalize ASAP to start working for Disney. Ok I'm gonna stop ranting now and just say that I'm happy that at least you are enjoying these episodes. Just a few more left! :D

Lord_Kar_XIII

The writing for these last 2 seasons had a lot of things that were rushed and made no sense. Watching Tyrion's character change so significantly was so hard. A lot of it felt like fan service. Either way, lots of incredible battle scenes to come. I laughed so hard when one of the biggest reveals of the whole show happened and all you cared about was Jon and Dany finally getting together.

Dani May

i just remind myself its fictional all the time haha, and especially with HOTD too as its just targaryens with a circle for a family tree. but i still ship my faves and who i feel has chemistry together, and i don't let it taint my enjoyment of the show by focusing on it a ton. but thats just how ive personally adapted after years of watching and focusing on other arguments rather than incest lmao

onlyastarion

so true !! my morals are FUCKED when it comes to the shows lol

onlyastarion

also i will never forgive this show for making me ship an aunt and her nephew. and just wait until you start HOTD😭

cass

just wanna say: try not to let other people’s opinions of season 8 sway your enjoyment going into it. while i didnt love how they chose to end it, theres some great episodes in the last season as well as an intense and epic battle.

cass

as much as i love dany and jon as characters and allies, i just cannot bring myself to ship incest. homeboy was fucking his aunt (granted they have no idea) but as a viewer iÂŽm just yelling nooooo. all for the ally-ship though, but knowing their ancestry i just cant look at them in that way. not as horrible as jaime and cersei because theyÂŽre not aware, but still not right yk

Cami

Jon is Aegon. Also, "There's only six episodes left? That's not real. That's not fair."

thebirdcatcher1

Also fun fact, the actor and actress who play Bron and Cersei dated in real life before the show started. It was a very bad break up and they both had it written in their contracts that they would not have to share any scenes together. I always thought that would be a great conversation to see between the two of them but it will never happen.

Katie Jandrain

I think you need to understand how important it is that Jon Snow is the legitimate heir to the Iron Throne. Right now only Bran and Sam know but if more people start finding out then there becomes a divide on who will back Dany vs. Jon. Jon may be the type of man to stand aside and let Dany have the iron throne but there still will always be that divide. It is a very big deal and a potential catalyst for many things if people were to find out.

Katie Jandrain

Davos= Hubby Material!!!!

Tomasina

So the whole bit with Rhaegar and Lyanna is basically that the name Aegon Targaryen was given to Jon Snow. Ned hid his name and gave him the last name Snow, instead of Targaryen, because Robert's whole mission was to "kill every Targaryen I can get my hands on" and Snow, because it went along with Ned's story of him going off to war with Robert and then having a Illegitimate child while he was away. So it was to protect Jon and also the wishes of Lyanna as she was dying. Aegon is a very significant name in the Targaryen family because of Aegon The Conqueror, and there are several past Targaryens that had the name Aegon. The marriage between Rhaegar and Lyanna essentially just made Jon (or Aegon LMAO) the true heir to the Iron throne, so you were right in that.

Adam Geiser

honey you got a big storm coming đŸ„Č

moon

so excited to watch this as soon as i’m done with the new HOTD ep! can’t wait to see your reaction to jon almost dying for the 6283738th time😭
