I've been living in Korea for the past two years, and it was so fun to be here when SG first came out and was blowing up! Felt like I got to be part of a big cultural moment somehow haha. Even most of my students here were obsessed with it! btw-Kind of fitting that you're wearing a Nation Geographic sweatshirt for this video, because NatGeo is a hugely trendy clothing brand in Korea right now. I thought it was strange when I first moved here, because I rarely saw NatGeo merch in the US, but it's everywhere here!

2023-01-03 20:25:04 +0000 UTCsquid game for me is a game change when it comes to tv shows, not only the concept, the storyline is so unique, but the ability of making you get attached so quickly to the characters, this is a new level of writing and character development, because we cried our hearts out for characters that we only knew for 6 episodes, and some of them took less than this, like the girl (ji-yeong) who sacrifices herself for sae-byeok. do you understand the impact of that? the difficulty of doing this? most of tv shows we need more time to develop some love, but the writing and everything on this show is so perfectly done, i can’t understand until this day. if this is not one the best writings ever, i don’t know what it is. that’s one of the main reasons why squid game is my favorite tv show (along with sense8, stranger things is a little down on the list, but these two are top tier narratives). ps: sorry for any grammar errors, english is not my native language

A good anime to start is ( in my opinion ) Sword Art Online, this was the anime that was the 1st, the entry point in the world of animes for many it as a great story and good Animations especial in the most recent seasons... I Also can give you a guide so you can get into it without being spoiler by openings ir endings i did this guide for other reactors as well so if you dive in the SAO world i can guide you... So you go full blind and give us a great and genuíne reaction as always

Didn't remember the Tug-of-war one ended like that! No wonder how I watched the show in 2 sittings, these cliffhangers.

The way they made Ji-yeong (the girl who Sae-byeok was playing with) one of my favorite characters in the span of one episode is just crazy. And as soon as they showed her dropping the marble without even throwing it I fucking lost it just like you did. Also, incase you didn’t notice; when Ji-yeong is talking about how her father killed her mother, she mentions that her father was a pastor and that he would pray everytime after he abused her. I think that’s probably why she was picking on the other dude when he was praying after tug-of-war.

2023-01-02 01:01:56 +0000 UTCto answer your question about whether the cop (as a square) didn’t need a gun—squares are the “supervisors”, triangles are the “shooters”, and the circles are the lowest level, just workers. that’s why when the kid with the square mask took his mask off in the playground, none of the triangles shot him, bc he’s above them and the only one above him was the diamond masked guy!

2023-01-01 23:12:52 +0000 UTCSo the woman that got with the thug guy and ended up on our main team for tug-of-war, she keeps calling guys "oppa", which is being translated to "babe" and that is a okay translation but there's more to it and why they look at her the way they do when she does it. In Korean, oppa is a term of endearment that a girl/woman will call an OLDER boy/man that she is close to (sisters will call their older brothers oppa, as well as girlfriends calling their older boyfriends oppa). She i clearly older than both the men she's called oppa, hence the looks from them and why the thug said about her age.
