Since you enjoy the Hogwarts reference, it might amuse you to know that ARMY refers to non-ARMYs as "Locals" but also sometimes calls them by the name BTS calls them among themselves = Muggles. The guys are HP fans.

2024-10-22 02:33:22 +0000 UTCthere's a longer version of blueside that hobi released only recently! it's on spotify on hobi's profile and on bangtantv on youtube i believe. i know when i first listened to hope world (i became an army in 2019 so i missed the release live) i remember rioting because blueside was a masterpiece and i wanted it to be longer so bad, thankfully hobi listened and gave us it :)

I went through a period of time where i listened to it every day bc it comforted me when I was feeling down. Theres one song in particular that it still my comfort song until this day, but I won't spoil that for you.

When the full version came out I felt like I was dreaming, you need to check it out. Also can't wait to rewatch Hobipalooza with you, it was an unforgettable moment.

He's been with BTS since pre-debut and was in the original line-up for the hiphop group they were supposed to be, but rather chose to stay as a producer for them when they changed plans (to be an idol group). He's behind a lot of BTS' and now Hybe groups' tracks, including Cypher 3: Killer, which is waiting for you on Dark & Wild. He's a good friend of theirs, and part of the 'OG' team that has been by their side all these years.

I also wish I could watch it for the first time again, it was mind blowing. To this day I carry a strange thrilling and exciting feeling in me when I'm just thinking about the whole show.

In the Day Dream MV, the "Arthur" calling is a reference to the book Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (it's another book in which a character leaves earth for adventures). In Baseline: Boils my blood - he means that it drives him - gets his blood pumping. Produced by: I think whatever you were looking at just didn't have it filled in. Now, since it's not the same title I don't know if he plans of using P.O.P. part 2 later or if he'll leave Equal Sign as its, let's say, sequel. I LOVE THE WAY YOU LOST IT IN DAYDREAM!! I also wanted to point out that near the end of the song he says "let's travel around the world", now this is not that specific but since Verne has been referenced before, this line also reminds me of "Around the world in 80 days" (another of his novels)

2023-03-10 03:22:41 +0000 UTCSo in Hope World, j-hope is making a lot of references to Jules Vernes novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea which follows the journey of the submarine Arronax under the command of Captain Nemo. He even directly refers to his world as a "novel." I think it's meant to parallel this Hope World he's created as a representation of his personal "story." Literally, he's taking us through his world but he's also telling us his story. Also, at the beginning of the song, you noticed the sound of us being submerged in water--that was us going down in the submarine to start off the album. In the final song we leave Hope World and return to the "Blue Side." Like Jack In The Box, the album is a whole singular journey with lots of introspective stops. It's so genius. And you'll notice Hobi uses literary references a lot. You caught the Giving Tree reference in Safety Zone and in Hope World he refers to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and in Daydream there's Harry Potter, Alice and Wonderland, and the call from Arthur that says "Don't Panic" is a reference to A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (very thematically on par w/Alice & HP)...he does it a lot in BTS songs too. His father is a literature teacher so he draws a lot of inspiration from stories.

Professor Aronnax was a passenger on the Nautilus, so Hobi (Captain Nemo) is inviting us (Aronnax) into his submarine to explore his Hope World. In the Daydream MV, Arthur and DON’T PANIC is the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” reference I mentioned, the main character being Arthur Dent, a normal dude who ends up being one of the last humans alive because he just so happened to be taken by his friend off-planet right before Earth was destroyed to build an intergalactic freeway bypass. Arthur spends most of his time in the books panicking and being incredibly confused by the utter weirdness he’s found himself in. DON’T PANIC is the motto emblazoned across the in-story “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” guidebook in big, friendly letters to remind you to, well, not panic! It’s one of the most memorable quotes from the whole series!

And I don't know if you know that there is a docu from jhope on Disney + about his album and lollapalooza. After the performance you maybe want to check that out? And also RM "live in Seoul" where he sings in front of just 200 (?) ARMYs. He rocked that too! There is literally so much for you to check out. all their albums, performances and I hope concerts too. So I am really excited for the future. As always it was great to see your reaction but I have one question for you. Can you make the video (or here the lyrics) bigger? 2023-03-10 01:56:41 +0000 UTCYesss I’ve been waiting for this!!! “Hope World” (the track) has a couple references to Jules Verne’s speculative fiction novels, including “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and “Around the World in 80 Days.” Captain Nemo is the captain of the Nautilus submarine in “20,000 Leagues” and a few other Jules Verne stories, and yes, he’s who Nemo the clownfish in “Finding Nemo” is named after. Aronnax is indeed a submarine in “The Deep,” but that submarine is named after Professor Aronnax from “20,000 Leagues.” In “Daydream,” j-hope references “Finding Nemo” and “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” thru some visuals, as well as “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Harry Potter” thru the lyrics. While Jules Verne’s works can all be categorized as speculative fiction whereas “Alice” and “Harry Potter” are fantasy (tho “Alice” can also be classed as literary nonsense) and “Hitchhiker’s” is science fiction, all these works express a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world and the endless possibilities of imagination and the future. j-hope references all these works that involve fun and limitless exploration of the fantastic, and they really speak to his mindset and his desire to be a piece of peace for ARMY and the entire world! One of the main purposes of fantasy/scifi/speculative fiction is escapism (tho contradictorily, another main purpose of these genres is to reflect on the state of our society thru the lens of the fantastic!), and wonder about what the future can be. I LOVE Hope World so much (tho personally Hangsang isn’t really to my taste of music, but I really enjoyed Hobi’s live performance of it at Hobipalooza!) because it’s just such a great message to BTS and ARMY and the entire world of who Hobi is, his worldview, and the overall sense of wonderment he has for life that he wants to share with us all!
