So excited to see you continue your journey through middle earth! These are my favorite movies and I’ve watched them every Christmas for the last 10 years.

Jessicah

aahh I commented about Legolas mid movie and at the end you picked Legolas as your fave lol SAME! I really enjoyed watching this with you. Going to start the second now and looking forward to the last! You should also do the Amazon Prime show, The Rings of Power! Visually stunning also.

Olive7

Did you notice Legolas didn't sink into the snow on the mountain like the other did? and he is always the first one to notice things coming at them? I was obsessed with him as a teen lol

Olive7

It's been so long since I've watched these movies! Wonderful surprise to watch you react to them! I've forgotten the amazing landscapes and beautiful music. Truly and incredible world to see. I also agree after these 3, you should watch the hobbit ones, they are amazing too!! Loved your reaction! :)

Talía Caraveo

im so suprised you didn't cry once, i cried like 3 times

Alecea Wells

Oh!!! LOTR!!!! It’s been a rough couple of weeks so I’ve been depending on my emotional support Beveraggi Hunger Games reactions to be on repeat in the background. I can watch this and then add to the rotation!!!

Giorgia M

I haven't seen this movie in over ten years! As an adult, I can definitely understand and enjoy it more than I did as a kid. I am a huge fan of The Hobbit trilogy and I hope you will react to them after this trilogy! I've been waiting for this LOTR reaction for a long time and I loved every second of it. Thank you!

Danielle

I absolutely loveee this franchise. After the lotr you have to watch the hobbit trilogy and then the new series that came out last year.

Mariella

Loved every second of this reaction!

Mary Beth Welch Collins

OMG the nostalgia, why was I tearing up when Gandalf says he's glad he's back at the Shire? This soundtrack is one of the absolute best ones, so iconic too. Really enjoyed this watch-along, can't wait for the next 2. P.S. Poor Sean Bean, can't catch a break 😭

Mariana

I finally have time to watch this, let's get iiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!

Mariana

nah coz why did i make the short king and certain type of suspicious gift gladriel gave remark right before you did 🤦‍♀️

Vanessa

yeh i noticed it got better after a while in thanks for catching that

Vanessa

thank you this is a total treat to have you share this with us. Please don't make us yet weeks for the rest.

So excited that you are watching these! As others have said, how these movies were filmed (the sheer scope of the project) is mind blowing. The extended editions of the DVDs have some amazing (documentary length) behind the scenes videos. Everything from how the cast bonded over living for a year+ in New Zealand, to how the weapons and costumes were made, to how the battle scenes were filmed is on there. Highly recommended.

Stephanie Orman

I would like to add with how you’re reacting to why Frodo didn’t do anything and it’s not like it’s a simple situation to be in, first you have the ‘fight, flight or freeze’ response that happens and then you add it with the ring. The ring hold more power then you know and the same with that wraith😊

OMG IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!! These movies (including the hobbit) are my favorite franchise and totally comfort movies 🥺❤️ there’s also extended versions of all of them btw hope you’ll get to see them at some point because they do change a lot of the films and show some important and funny moments 😊

Bangtan is life

this was the best reaction you ever could’ve posted EVER!! 😭😭 I LOVE THESE MOVIES!!!!!!!!! it’s been so long since i’ve seen these movies or read the books (yes, i was actually that crazy in high school) and i am SOOO ready to dive back into them with you!!!!

Alexander

Michael Beveraggi

OH WOW YEAH I MISSED THAT

Michael Beveraggi

Yeah I raised the volume like 30 min in when I realized, def gonna have it higher next vid, thank you!

Michael Beveraggi

Also. How come you missed that Sam is THE Bob the brains from stranger things 🥹

Ida Lisby

Get ready for the most beautiful landscapes you'll ever see. The whole trilogy was filmed in New Zealand in conjunction with each other so they got to spend a couple of years there from 1999-2001. I had the VHS (yes they still made those at this time) of the this one and watched it so many times as a kid.

Really interesting to watch someone see this movie for the first time. I have to give it up to Peter Jackson. It's an extremely complicated story, but it is delivered in such a way that someone brand new can pick everything up and also satisfy the people who have seen it over and over. I think you made some good points. Why is Frodo just lying on the ground at Weathertop instead of scurrying away from the ring wraiths? I think the answer is abject fear. And why do the ring wraiths allow themselves to get swept away by the water? Because it looks good on film, I suppose. Also, the river was the border to the elvish lands, so the ring wraiths were hesitant to cross. One thing you asked several times was why the hobbits don't wear shoes. It's not exactly a superpower, but they just have really great feet. Hobbit feet are large, hairy, and tough enough that they don't need shoes. All of the hobbit actors had to wear prosthetics on their feet every day. Merry and Pip are always into hijinks, but you might notice that Merry is the more sensible of the two. Something I have always found amusing is that in the last fight with the urk-hai, it really is Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) batting away the knife thrown at him with a sword. Please look up Sean Astin on imdb and remind yourself who he is. He has had a long career, and is simply wonderful in everything he is in. Something to keep in mind is that The Hobbit was published in 1937 and LoTR was published in 1954-1955. There were early screen adaptations of LoTR, but nothing so well-done or successful as Peter Jackson's versions. One last thing, I think the extended cut of Two Towers was really helpful in explaining what was going on. You may not have access to it, but it is something to keep in mind.

Julie B

You should watch the extended cuts!!!

Rene Lentsch

the amount of memes that originate from this movie lord also i think your mic is a little too loud compared to the movie volume on this video, though i had to turn it up full for the film

Vanessa

Not the extended cuts? :( Ahhh. Still appreciate it!! I hope you love it enough and maybe in a year or so watch the extended with us :)

Janet Michelle

not you being the person that makes me finally watch these movies lol

onlyastarion

It’s been so long since I watched the theatrical release that I honestly forgot everything that was added for the extended cut…and if you’re wondering, I would absolutely watch you reacting to the extended cuts as well 😂

Desiree Mclaughlin

Oh and I was very sure that I would die if I didn’t get to marry elijah Wood some day 😂

Ida Lisby

Oh my brings back the best memories. My dad and I made a tradition of going to the biggest theater in my country to see those films every Christmas. Best father/daughter times ever! ❤️

Ida Lisby

This is so exciting! I can’t wait to see you watch these. Just a heads up for you if you like learning backstory and having some questions answered about some of the characters I would suggest looking into the extended editions of the movies. It is interesting to see the theatrical version after only seeing the extended for so long, it’s refreshing. That being said do what you would like to do, but if you enjoy the whole trilogy and want to watch it again but with the extended version I will happily watch that as well. There is so much that can get missed in a first watch. Enjoy these movies and if you have questions ask away I’m sure there are plenty of us who could answer them.

Looking fondly at my Director's Cut Extended Edition LOTR Trilogy box set of DVDs sitting up on a shelf untouched in a decade as I sit down with coffee to watch this. So excited! Edit: After watching along with you, so many memories came back for me, of the landscapes, the score, the iconic lines. Those different musical motifs for the different characters and places get me every time. These films were a real labor of love for everyone involved, and it shows in every aspect of the filmmaking! I also can't imagine seeing Fellowship in the theatre and then having to wait a couple years before the next one. I remember a friend talking me into seeing Return of the King on its opening weekend, so the day before we went, we just spent 6 hours on the first two movies so I could catch up, and I was hooked. So glad you enjoyed this, and thank you for surprising us!

jennptx

I always knew that some day a guy would make me watch lord of the rings. I never expected it to be Mike from Patreon on a random Thursday- but oh well. Alas I accept my faith.

Hedda Dybvadskog

I second this !

Cadin Hawkins

I love these movies to bits! So excited to watch these with you! :)

Tessa Noble

I hope you react to Kelly clarkson’s new album

Paige

My excitement knows no bounds. Edit: Okay but now it’s almost Speak Now (TV) o’clock and I just want to watch Two Towers.
