Happy October everyone!!!! (my personal favorite month 🥲)

I have lots of content this month planned, the usual stuff combined with some funnn surprises!

I do wanna ask, as much as I STRUGGLE with spooky stuff (for those that know, you know), I do wanna do something spooky this month for the sake of the spirit. So I want to ask for suggestions! Comment them below and as always THANK YOU SO MUCH

Okay so these movies have nothing to do with Halloween(I don’t like scary stuff either lol), but I was rewatching them recently and I think you’d really like them!! If you do a feel good/tear jerker poll I recommend Big Fish and Secondhand Lions

DanielleM

Oh yes!!

DanielleM

Yes!!

DanielleM

OK this isn't necessarily scary (so doesn't have to be done in oct) but I would like to suggest that you listen to Taylor's "Carolina" and then watch the movie she wrote it for "where the crawdads sing" if you haven't already seen or heard those :)

April Green

new to the patreon! your deep and meaningful reactions to albums brought me here! would absolutely love your reaction to the new hozier album unreal unearth. i think you would have an amazing time with the lyrics and would love to hear your insight!!

Bellatortellini

lmaooo thank you for the suggestion Sydnee!!

Michael Beveraggi

Boy manor!! It's so good!

Madhushi

US!! And NOPE and get out by Jordan peele are good thriller films!! And some horror elements as well

Dani 💤

Each ep is 10 mins so in all it’s only a hour show!!

Dani 💤

Interview with a vampire is a good show as well!!

Dani 💤

OVER THE GARDEN WALL!!!!! PLEASE ITS CUTE AND SCARY AND GOT SOME NICE SONGS

Dani 💤

YELLOJACKETS!! THE CONJURING!! THE NUN!!!

Dani 💤

IT (2017) would be perfect!!!

emma lee

also - the scream movies!

ipsssen

sorry for being weird but i was looking at old content from before i subscribed while i wait for more AOT (no presh lol) and in an old vid you said you've never seen the dark knight trilogy???? you have got to react to those an *I* personally think they could be seen as sufficiently spooky for October

ipsssen

IT (2017)!!! Or Monster house (one of my favs)

Shamya Mckoy

IT (2017)!!

Shamya Mckoy

IT (2017) not too spooky!!!

Ashley Reyes

Seconding/thirding/whatever suggestions for Train to Busan, All Of Us Are Dead, and the 90s Addams Family movies, and throwing Hot Fuzz (more of a comedy/murder mystery, so less gory and more lighthearted) and Nope (Jordan Peele) out there as recommendations 😁😁🫶

Eefa

*yells* HOZIER HOZIEr hoZIER

Eefa

BLY MANOR PLEASEEE!! I personally favored it more over haunting of hill house which was also very godo

Jeanine

Omg please react to The Descent or As Above, So Below they are such interesting movies!!

Melissa Cuesta

Watch the scream movies! They’re well made and well written and have a little comedy and mystery but still technically a “horror.”

Cocoapuffs

If you are looking for a series that is gothic, but not jump-scare-filled. I can't recommend Penny Dreadful highly enough. Truly is some of the best written and most beautifully shot tv from the 2010s. It never got the recognition it deserved as it was competing with GoT for awards/viewership. Essentially it's a mashup of classic gothic stories (Dracula, Picture of Dorian Grey, Frankenstein, The Phantom of the Opera) and classic hollywood horror (The Wolfman, The Mummy), all set in Victorian London with an all-star British cast. Three seasons 8-10 episodes each.

Stephanie Orman

Fear Street Trilogy on netflix!!!!

Lara Fryer

What about the Disney Haunted Mansion Movie.. the new one is coming out, so it might be fun watching the old one. Not scary at all, family friendly spooky fun ☺️🤗

Nadine Panhorst

I agree w everyone's suggestions just bc im a spooky stan lmao. HAPPY OCTOBERAGGI EVERYONE!!

Xene

maybe train to busan if you haven't seen it before, I don't like zombie movies but I loved this one, it's a tear jerker tho!

LemonTea

Happy birthday month!!

Alecea Wells

Coraline!! 😊 Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown are Disney classics. None of them are scary, but full of Halloween spirit.

Danielle

Oh, another recommendation is the korean series Kingdom. It has zombies and the plot is so so so so good!! Honestly, really great.

Liuzetz

Here to second Rocky Horror. its fun, on theme, and is a musical/horror comedy

chh

*whispers* Hozier Hozier Hozier

Shawna Lea

Rocky Horror!!!

chh

Not Hollween or spooky themed but Jhope in the box documentary🤞🏾 It will really make you appreciate Hobipaloozaand how much work he put into it

Nattie Dior ⁷

Honestly, as someone who absolutely is not of fan of spooky stuff, I would say is a safe bet to go with something like Beetlejuice or Rocky Horror Picture Show - great halloween vibes, no nightmares at night <3

Rachel Silva

Another vote for bly manor! And fear street yes please

saks

True Blood is fun! Bly Manor would be awesome, and there's a third series from the makers of Hill House and Bly Manor coming out on the 12th: The Fall of the House of Usher based on the Edgar Allen Poe poem that I am looking forward to. If you want something more family friendly we love Monster House and always watch it around this time of the year as well.

Roslyn

I love WWDITS! Such a good rec!

Desiree Mclaughlin

Not related but are you going to react to the last season of Sex Education?

Vanessa Vincent

Fear Street Trilogy with Sadie Sink! <33333

Maleen

Finally spooky season and I can request All of Us Are Dead! It’s so sooooo good!

EB

Get out 👀

ipsssen

Michael, as someone who was a teen in the 90's, I cannot tell you how much I am obsessed with Yellowjackets. Yes, it is scary, but I think a bit more manageable than Hannibal. If you do Yellowjackets, I will send you some very specific custom requests in the coming months. The soundtrack is so, so good. 💛

Julie B

Yeah! I’m very much a Freddy girlie! Lol

chimelle6

Oh I love All of Us are Dead! And train to Busan so much!!! I didn’t think of either of them at first but honestly they’d probably be the top of my list!

chimelle6

Another vote for Haunting of Bly Manor and Yellowjackets! Both are very scary though

Soren (formerly Magnolia)

I want him to watch Yellowjackets so bad (crying emoji) and it never comes close to winning the polls

Soren (formerly Magnolia)

Oh wait, maybe Black Swan could be considered spooky enough for the season? I love that movie

Mariana

Bly Manor!!! Also the chances of this are slim but even if you don’t do it for the channel and just for yourself, All of Us are Dead is a great one. It’s a korean zombie show. (no one does horror like koreans i fear)

evelyn💓

Hocus Pocus 1 and 2 are both good fun. Not spooky. Bly Manor like everyone is suggesting. Myself I recently re-watched True Blood, Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies. I watch a lot of real spooky stuff but know your difficulties and could never do that to you. True Blood isn't really scary but lots of blood etc.

Kristina

Did you ever watch Wes Cravens New Nightmare? It has almost all the actors from the first one. Here's the IMDb link if you wanna watch the trailer etc.

Kristina

i've seen a couple ppl suggest it, but ready or not and the scream films are good recs!! fear street and hocus pocus as well if you havent seen them!

ariiiiiii

Not halloween related but have you considered reacting to the show Empire someday? It's a Fox show but I think it's on Disney+ as well (at least in germany) There's a lot of great music and some great storylines i think you'd enjoy it! If you don't want to do the whole series maybe you could at least react to some songs! :) I'm really enjoying your content!

Luana

I see a lot of people already mentioned Bly Manor and Fear Street but I'd like to suggest Midnight Mass also (it is less scary to me but it brings some really interesting things to the table, very different from the other haunting series from Flanagan) and for movies, I do have a long list of those but it always depends of how much horror you can endure. The VVitch is one of my favorite horror movies. Sinister is very disturbing but also pretty good. The conjuring is a great one also and Talk to me which was just released. Also, if you prefer something more light and funny, Happy Death day is a great option.

Liuzetz

Midnight Mass is soooo good and kinda forgotten by the GP. Loved it

Liuzetz

I feel like it would be fun to do a video of you checking out Disney show Halloween episodes (since they are like 20 minutes each) just like they mentioned Lizzie, Raven, Suite Life, and even shows like Recess, wizards of Waverly place, Kim possible. Also, Halloweentown is a must!!

Samantha

Scream (1996) is a great movie for you cause it's a horror comedy but still a classic! That's my suggestion :)

Alycia Ortiz

I liked the Fear Street trilogy. Plus… Sadie Sink ftw Also Sweeney Todd for a musical!

Tiffany

Happy October (my favourite month cause i love all things spooky) for not-so-spooky but spooky things (G rated)... - Coraline (which is one of my fav movies ever) - Halloween town (there's a bunch but obvi start with the first) -Twitches for scary/thriller stuff... - Sinister (first one) -Saw -Ma and some "spooky" shows (comedy/thrillers/crime) -Disneys recess (season 3 episode 34 "terrifying tales of recess") - "Don't fuck with cats" (docuseries) -alice in Borderland (dark/suspenseful)

Samantha

You don't have to watch scary stuff for October do something nostalgic like Halloweentown or twitches or hocus pocus practical magic is also a favorite for me

Jana Fuller

Coraline can be such a good movie to watch <3

Valentina MF

Definitely the Scream movies! Lots of jump scares but nothing too crazy happens. :)

Jessicah

fear street trilogy 🙌

Em&Em

nightmare before christmas (movie musical) coraline scream (1996)- not super scary (only sometimes scary) but still a really good movie with good humor throughout

AJ

Oh damn 😲

Bangtan is life

My grandmother’s house was two streets over from the Perron house in RI. 😳

Heather

Nightmare Before Christmas or Hocus Pocus are my go to Halloween movies I have to watch every year! Maybe slightly corny, but also classic and I never tire of watching is Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street (the first one of course, but I really love Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, has silly parts but I personally think it has a decent storyline as well). Idk they’re like comfort spooky for me. 🤣

chimelle6

What about Alice in borderland?

Yasmim Nayane

Happy October! Excited to see what you have coming up this month. Haunting of Bly Manor is a MUST!!!! I’ve been hoping you’d watch it ever since you finished Hill House 🤞🏽 There aren’t as many jump scares in this one so it might be easier for you to watch on that front.

Xochi

What about some old school Disney Channel Halloween movie

rnc1100 .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH BEV!!! I struggle with spooky stuff too so I have no suggestions, but I'm excited for what you have planned and I hope you have an amazing celebration month!

Mariana

I broke out my "it's just a bunch of Hocus Pocus" today for work, cuz spooky season has arrived! I agree with the recs for Hocus Pocus if you haven't seen it!

Amanda M.

happy october! i think it could be fun to watch the original rocky horror picture show if you haven't seen it, or i would love to see your reactions to jordan peele's movies (get out, us, nope) nope is a miss for a lot of people but i think its amazing and terrifying

caitlin

Right!! I think as a person who gets spoke easily, he will enjoy pretty much every aspect of this one without getting to spook out!!

dhay

ooo ready or not was actually such a fun one

mari

I agree with everyone saying Bly Manor and Fear Street. The Fear Street does have 3 movies but the story is well done and not too scary just creepy imo. I will never stop recommending Bly Manor Victoria Pedretti (Nell from Hill House) is the lead actress and she’s so amazing in everything. It is as scary as Hill House I think but with less jump scares I know you hated that aspect of it.

Nicolett

Oooh interview with the vampire season 1

Valentine

Some not-too-spooky recommendations: - Sleepy Hollow (1999) - Coraline - Nightmare Before Christmas - Headless (it’s always fun!) - Addams Family - Addams Family Values - Lady in White (1988) - Monster Squad (1987) - Scooby Doo on Zombie Island Happy best month of the year! 🍂🍁🎃

Heather

Omg yesss anything Jordan Peele for sure!

Paige

Halloweentown is my favorite childhood halloween memory!!

Jenna

oh no i agree lol !! i think it’s scarier personally for several reasons, but i’ll say those if/when he watches it.

onlyastarion

omg yes any of the jordan peel movies, Us, Get Out, or Nope!!

Jenna

happy october everyone!!

heather

Happy October!!!! So I'm not into horror at all so I don't have like that kind of spooky spooky stuff. But if you haven't watched any of the Halloweentown movies. You probably have (at least I hope). There are four of them. The first three are the best. You can skip the 4th one. Also I'm sure you've watched Hocus Pocus. If not, highly recommend. And if you have, you should check out Hocus Pocus 2. Oh and also recommend Twitches and Twitches Too. They're with Tia & Tamera. OH you can also do some of the classic Halloween Disney Channel episodes: Lizzie McGuire (Night of the Day of the Dead), That's So Raven (Don't Have a Cow) Suite Life of Zack and Cody (Room 613), and a few others I can't think of.

CGoerlich

i definitely still think it’s as scary as hill house, especially if you’re someone who doesn't like scary at all 😂

Jenna

Hush Green room Fear street trilogy Becky and the wrath of becky

AJ

I also love happy death day... it have spooky elements but not scary at all

Portia Crain

Happy spooky seasooooon!!!! ❤️ Hunting of Bly Manor is insane and i think cause of the history aspect you will absolutely love it, Ready or Not is a comedy/slasher and Talk To me literally HORROR OF THE YEAR!!!! can’t help to ask if you going to do HSMTSM S4??? 🙏🏽

dhay

Your reaction to the movie Get Out would be amazing!

Ali Hannig

Oh, maybe Sweeney Todd? Since it's a musical and has our boy Alan Rickman. A bit gory, though

Nik Vann

Happy October!! My favorite month, my birth month, the best month. Not a big spooky movie person but my bestie made my watch Midsommar and it was pretty dope. That or Yellowjackets for sure!

Paige

What We Do in the Shadows, either the movie or the series! It's a comedic vampire docuseries 🤣

Nik Vann

October is the best month!! Have you watched Hocus Pocus? I can’t remember, but that’s my favorite Halloween movie. I second the Coraline suggestion if you want something spooky but not too much. Or maybe one of Jordan Peele’s movies? Can’t wait to see what you pick! Happy fall 🎃

Storm

Fear street on Netflix it has 3 parts and I very much dislike scary stuff but the story pulled me in...

Portia Crain

I love scary stuff but because I know you have a faint heart I’m gonna agree with what was already said here Haunting of Bly Manor and the Fear Street movies are good choices 🙌🏼 but if you do wanna dare to be more brave I’d highly recommend The Conjuring, it’s one of my all time favorite horror movies!! Oh yes Nightmare Before Christmas how could I forget, it’s a classic and I watch it every Halloween 🎃😄

Bangtan is life

Omg fear street is fantastic

Ray Criswell

Over the garden wall has a spooky vibe but it’s really chill and adorable, i think you’d enjoy it! But even tho hill house was rough for you i can’t not recommend the haunting of bly manor, it’s really good.

Ray Criswell

house of bly manor?? it’s my personal fav between the two shows, and some say it’s not AS spooky compared to hill house. it’s more of a drama but it definitely still has its horror moments, and it’s pretty scary imo !! but it’s a wonderful show like hill house. i’d also recommend the fear street trilogy !! they feel like classic horror movies, but definitely more modern. has some great horror tropes in the three movies and also some good twists and storytelling !!

onlyastarion

Haunting of Bly Manor is incredible. Also Midnight Mass. Both are made by the same guy who did haunting of hill house and they feature a lot of the same cast members.

Sav Miller

Happy October!!! If you’re wanting a spooky movie, I would heavily suggest Scream 1! It’s not too scary (I’m a grade-A chicken when it comes to horror films and I survived), and it’s a classic. Also this would be the opportune month to continue your Five Nights at Freddy’s saga on twitch!

Cadin Hawkins

I'm also not a super fan of horror, but Coraline (classic tho so i may have seen it already) and nightmare before christmas (movie musical) are movies I watch every October, they're my favorite

Aninha Silva

Yellowjackets, Haunting of Bly Mannor, and the fear street trilogy get my vote!

M

HAPPY OCTOBER, Michael!!! one spooky thing i like to do around this time is go to a haunted attraction with friends! nothing better than paying people to chase you around with a fake chain saw 😂😂😂

Sydnee R

HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR!!

cass

Yellowjackets!! (Two seasons, 19 episodes total, third season confirmed!) Edit: okay this is just me pushing my yellowjackets agenda and is not traditionally spooky and isn't about ghosts or stranger-things-type monsters, but also that could be your reasoning why it's better to watch ahahaha. but also i'll love whatever we get to watch with you hahaha. happy spooky season michael!
