As much as I love Bolin, I have to say my favorite character in the Korra universe is Tenzin. He also grows SO much - overbearing and overprotective dad, hesitant to action, etc. to this powerhouse of a leader, better father, and true mentor to Korra... What a guy! I'm glad that they kind of spelled out the Korra/Kuvira connection plus the whole Korra needing to suffer to understand compassion thing because I feel like that could be missed on a first watch. This is my 3rd rewatch of LoK and the nuances and hints they placed throughout S3 & 4 leading up to Korra's personal growth is so amazing. Reiterating what I said at the end of ATLA - check out the comics! SO much more story within them. (ATLA specific: finding out what happened to Zuko's mom, seeing Toph start her metal bending academy, etc!) Can't wait to watch the live action with you when it comes out :) Thanks for giving these series a chance, glad you enjoyed them so much

Did u know that they were told they were only getting one szn? (Also loved ur opinion lmao) That’s why it doesn’t have an overarching theme like ATLA. They also had less time to plan. Nickelodeon really did them dirty! 😭

Just a disclaimer regarding the series that I mentioned back when u first started reacting to it: The writers were told they were getting one season. Then, they got season two. Then they were told they would get a third and fourth season. This is why three and four go hand in hand with the trail of events and trauma of Korra. They also were given one year to write both seasons three and four, not to mention production. I will always defend TLOK, because it is exactly what fans asked for: More bloodbending, fire and ice relationship, more world building, a strong woman lead, following the avatar lore aka having the next avatar be the opposite of the last, characters like Zuko AKA Korra, more iconic villains ; I love tlok! The fights and creativity were insane- especially in szns 1 and 3. Most ppl view szn 4 as an epilogue for side character development.

Hey that is the best part of media in general, there is something for everyone. I am more of a person who likes the overarching story but definitely i cannot fault anyone for preferring LOK

i actually prefer the LOK ending, maybe it’s bc despite how much i love the gaang, i prefer korra herself overall, and her story idk

LOK is a good show but I feel the disadvantages that it has being naturally compared to the last airbender is just to insurmountable. Especially with the comparison between the last few episodes in each season. The gaangs arc is just so beautifully brought to a head all around in what feels like something out of an epic.

it always makes me sad when i think about how they tried their hardest to hint at it since S1, but nick censored them so heavily. i think lots of sapphics did get the vibes though.

Korra and Asami are confirmed girlfriends btw ! The creators had the idea for season 4 to develop them romantically but they were pretty much censored due to Nickelodeon not wanting a same sex couple depicted in a child's show. But they are canonically girlfriends in the official comics!
