Jungkook the pop icon that you are!!! Golden feels like a homage to young jungkook who did covers of all these artists and talked about them in interviews and now he has an album full of songs that have their influence but jungkook made his own while working with the same producers/ writers as them! I’m so incredibly proud of him!! Also,, standing next to you receives a 500 minute ovation by me every time I play it!!! There was still not a single song released in the last almost a year that could top it!

2024-10-01 06:28:25 +0000 UTCI love the album! I think you can clearly hear the influences of our biggest male pop stars like JT, Usher, MJ, JB, Shawn and Ed. I was expecting a pop album with some influences from other genres since JK has mentioned JT, Usher, MJ and JB as his influences in the past and has often recommended such songs or sung them on his live streams. I like that the songs have influences from Afropop, UK garage, Reggaeton, EDM, Funk and more and that he plays with his voice. I didn't expect his album to have so many old influences and be modern at the same time. He also put his own color on it.

My faves from his album are: - 3D, which makes me go absolutely feral (bc of the lyrics and Jungkook ofc) and will be probably one of my most replayed of the year (the Alternative ver. sorry, didn't like Jack Harlow's verse). - Closer to You, loved it for the same reasons you did. - Standing Next to You, with this one he blew my mind, incredible vocals, dance, performance, music video, everything, what a star he is omg. - Somebody, his vocals are insane, he's so versatile, I'm convinced he can sing literally any genre. The rest of the album is not for me tbh, but I can definitely say it is a good pop album and he showcases his abilities perfectly. Yes or No reminds me so much of 1D, especially Better Than Words, which makes sense because Ed Sheeran wrote so many songs for them. I'm glad he did what he wanted to do. I'm so proud of Jungkook, our golden star.

As you said, he is just so versatile in his voice that he managed to make you think of the mega stars like Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendas and you touch that with jungkook’s voice? Mind blowing. I am just so proud of him. My album of the year for sure.

2023-11-04 13:35:18 +0000 UTCThis album really showcases Jung Kooks vocals and ability to sing many styles and genres. I believe he has even more in his bag of golden awesomeness to show us. I am beyond proud of him. He really is the new king of pop. I definitely need the next album to be R&B, he will eat that up too. Also, you missed Ed Sheeran wrote in Yes or No. So he really did tackle some of the greats and their sounds on this album. I think he really wanted to show he was not just a k-pop or Korean singer, that he is in the same league as household artists (although I believe even better).

2023-11-04 00:41:45 +0000 UTCI'm so proud of Jung Kook, I could go outside and scream at the sky. He went live this morning (Texas time) and listened to the album with ARMY and sang along. He emphasized how quickly the album had to be made and spoke at length about the challenges of pronunciation. If you get a chance to watch it, it should have subs soon (it had live subs this morning). His second appearance on Suchwita will be Saturday morning CST. Then, Fallon and the Today show next week. And his GOLDEN concert will be on the 20th, I think? It will be streamed for free (on the anniversary of BE which is my ARMY anniversary...and also when I found your channel!) I've had so much fun making playlists for his songs since Seven this summer. For 3D, I put so much JT, Pharrell, JB, and Timbaland produced songs. It fits in seamlessly. As a showcase for his voice and the different genres he loves, this album was perfect. Plus the choreography for the ones that have it, and his ability to perform live with those vocals while dancing--no one that I know of in the "western" pop world can do what he does. I'm so proud of his hard work, and I love seeing him grow in new ways 💜

2023-11-03 22:20:00 +0000 UTCI still can't put into words how much I loved this album, I waited so long for it and Jungkook didn't disappointed, it's a skipless album for me. I just love so much seeing him doing what he likes and challeging himself. His vocals are insane, the visuals of the music videos, the choreographies, everything is so perfect. He definitely is a pop star! My favorite songs are Hate You, Yes Or No and Shot Glass Of Tears, but Standing Next To You is growing so much on me the more I listen. Oh, and the way I laughed when you played Yes Or No twice cause yeah, I got you, it's just sooo good. Also, as a Shawn Mendes fan I freaked out so much when I saw that he was a part of Golden, I was hoping you would check the credits to see it haha so glad you did. As for touring, I don't think he's gonna do it right now cause he has to enlist soon and he also said that he'd like to have more songs to do a tour. But hey, on november 20, at 6AM ET he's gonna perform the album in a arena in Korea and the show will be live on Weverse so we'll can have a taste of a JK concert, look for "Golden Live On Stage", I can't wait for it!

The other BTS' solo albums are masterpieces for me but this one is just too pop for my taste and the fact that all the songs are in English, it throw me off a little bit, I'm not gonna lie! But I support him in everything he does and I don't blame him. I just hope he will keep trying things. Nonetheless, I'm a fan of the singles especially Seven and Standing Next to You, Yes or No and Please Don't Change are big replay-worthy songs for me. :)

I'm so happy he's able to do the music he wants to, and that he's having so much fun with it! I LOVE how much you want a tour, but I don't see it happening. He's enlisting by the end of the year and that's not enough time. Which is probably why he's doing the performances he is!

I think every single ARMY reacted the way you did when we started listening to Somebody because we had never heard that vocal style from him before. I really wish we could get a mini tour or something but we only have 2 months of the year left and I remember there was an announcement about all of them being enlistes by the end of this year... so it's unlikely. Also JK has said that he'd love to be on tour but he'd love to have more songs for it too.

All these songs shouldn’t really come as a surprise, all the songs he recs are similar to these. He adores pop. He also said that he has nothing to write about right now so why should he waste his time squeezing out lyrics (hence why no writing or producing credits, wasting time probably because he has to go soon) he said he wanted to experiment with vocal techniques and hone his live performance skills instead. This album is the epitome of current and old pop and I’m just so proud of him for doing what he wants to do and giving us this great album! PS: if you didn’t know ed sheeran is the writer for yes or no.

He even said that Andrew Wyatt offered for him to record Standing Next To You when they met while recording Seven so (Funny Michael mentioned Dua Lipa when talking about Standin Next To You because Andrew Wyatt works a lot with her)

2023-11-03 18:09:22 +0000 UTCJust starting the reaction big a big yes to the Justin Timberlake vibes! 3D is so Justified and Yes or No is very 20/20 for me as well, and I'd love for JK to keep steering in this direction bc I love the type of pop that Timberlake goes for. As for the album in general, besides the singles and 'Yes or No', the rest of the tracks didn't do anything for me, just a bunch of pop tunes that feels a bit generic, but I can't really say I'm mad at it because that's a bit of what I was expecting? Just a regular pop album ig At the same time, I'm so glad the singles are INCREDIBLE, especially Standing Next You. It was such a smart move to keep it as a main track so he can really show off those vocals and choreo after already getting the commercial success from Seven and 3D. He's made it very clear that his goal is to be the next main pop boy and somebody gotta tell him he already is
