2023-12-08 10:57:29 +0000 UTCI love Nathan (he was my fav at this point) and I don't want to see him hurting, but I loved this storyline for Haley. It really gives her character layers. Her being perfect for 9 seasons and making no mistakes, especially since she's a child, makes no sense. At the end of the day she's just reacting to her really rash, hasty and OOC decision to get married at 16. To me this all seems very organic. She's been questioning it all season. I like that the show is not romanticizing, but being realistic about their decision to get married while in high school. I love them as a couple, but I thought it was a terrible decision. They had only been dating for a few months and Nathan has HUGE unresolved issues which makes him VERY dependent on Haley. (Not to mention Nathan has had terrible relationships and his parents set a terrible example offering no guidance. Haley has had zero relationships and her parents just bailed offering no guidance). To me, Nathan is using this marriage as a way to have the family he craves since he's emancipated from his parents and Haley wanted to give him that. Not exactly the ideal foundation to build a marriage on, at any age. Neither of them put any thought into what being married looked like.

2023-12-08 09:35:58 +0000 UTCOTH time! What Haley did to Nathan is so shitty. Lying repeatedly and then abandoning him to go on tour with the guy she kissed twice and knows has feelings for her. Nathan was always supportive of her working on her music and he was the one who encouraged her to do it when she was afraid to. I like Haley, but she is completely in the wrong here. Great for Brooke being elected class president. I love seeing her growing and realizing what she is capable of. Also, I agree, Lucas is a good and caring friend.
