2023-12-14 02:33:03 +0000 UTCim really glad you liked this movie. they are definitely campy films but people way over-hate them and act like they're the worst movies ever made which is far from true. and yea i agree, jacob never had a shot. the movies play up the love triangle thing for drama but in the books bella sees jacob more like a little brother that she loves and wants to protect than someone that could actually overtake how she feels about edward

I also don't understand how some people say the movies get worse and worse, for me it's the complete opposite. The only thing I don't like and agree with you on, is Jake constantly forcing himself on Bella despite her rejecting him countless of times. I understand that he loves her and don't want to give up easily, but man... Just accept your defeat and be a good friend to her. It's honestly quite admirable how much patience Bella has for him lol... That being said, I love me some Taylor as Jacob, he still plays a big role in the series and I really like the addition of werewolves into the series, it makes things more interesting. I'm really curious what you'll think about the rest of the story.

2023-12-13 07:25:41 +0000 UTCThe amount of times Bella friend zoned Jacob in this movie and you still think she was giving mixed signals 😭 When she says he’s sort of beautiful she’s not hitting on him He tries to hold her hand. He makes a big deal about her pulling away and she acknowledges that holding hands means something different to him than to her. Jacob pushes because he’s a sixteen year old boy who has a crush and she literally asks him to stop and that if he confesses he’ll ruin everything. And he ignores her rejecting him to say he won’t give up and Bella clearly says that she doesn’t want him to give up ONLY because she doesn’t want to lose his friendship and acknowledges that she’s being selfish because she knows of his feelings. To me Bella’s been really self aware when it comes to her feelings and has been communicating them to Jacob. Bella only says she’ll try for a relationship with him when she’s afraid of losing him. Saying things like she’ll try or to give her some time to develop feelings because she doesn’t have romantic feelings for this boy. Bella is using Jacob as like a walking talking serotonin boost. Her “own personal sun.” He literally pulled her out of the darkness after Edward left. Bella has always seen him as this bright warm person. He’s her best friend but in New Moon it’s always been Edward. She even makes it clear to him in the end that if he forces an ultimatum on her he won’t like the answer. Rejecting him for like the seventh time this movie (if you count all the times she pulled away when he tried to kiss her). I do however think that if Edward never came back that Bella would have eventually gained feelings for Jacob and settled for him. Because while she *could* love Jacob, I don’t think she could ever love him to the extent that she loves Edward. But honestly, as much as adult me dislikes Jacob—younger me was Team Jacob. Most definitely because I accidentally read New Moon first so when I was introduced to Edward he was immediately breaking up with Bella 💀 I did not want her with him and loved Jacob. I actually think every movie is better than the one before it, with Twilight being the absolute worst. And my confession time is that adult me is also way into Aro. I dunno I think Michael Sheen is cute 😭 Also Jasper has some of the best control in the family if you take in to account that he’s an empath and can feel seven vampires (including his own) hunger at all times. Alice can’t fake a vision with Aro! He sees EVERY thought someone has ever had. He’d see her coming up with the plan to fake a vision 😭 But you’re right that visions/the future can change! Last thing! Promise! I’ve always hated Rosalie’s vote. Her thing is all about choice but votes no ignoring Bella’s own choices. What she says sounds nice though 🤷🏻♀️

I kinda forgot how much I liked Jacob in the beginning of the books/movies, but by the end of New Moon I couldn't stand him and it only got worse in the following ones, but I'll wait till you watch Eclipse to say more hehe. So yeah, I've always been team Edward, I really don't like love triangles, but I dislike this one on a whole other level. I totally understand how Bella feels in this movie, breakups can be so hard, especially when you're so dependent on your partner like she is, but when she starts to put herself in danger to see/hear Edward I'm like "girl??? let's get some help", haha. Their relatioship it's so intense, but till this day there's scenes of them that make me soft just like when I was 11/12. I'm really looking foward to watch you reacting to the other ones, the next movies are so much fun, you'll see.

As an adult, both "relationships" give me the ick but these movies are so entertaining! I quote the entire franchise constantly. "Where have you been, loca?" is so iconic!

I would agree that the first one is the worst...the last two are questionable, but for varying reasons...but I'll say less. All I have to say is to not worry, you'll get plenty of EVERYONE over the next three films. I agree. These movies are not peak cinema that I genuinely believe to be great movies (for MANY MANY reasons, even more so to do with the books, as they are the source material. Can you say TOXIC?). But I agree that they sure are entertaining to watch! Definitely have solidified their place in pop culture history forever hahahahah.

This was said on passing so I think it was lost mid-drama, but the ones blocking Alice's powers are the werewolves. As long as there's a werewolf involved in the event, she can't see that future. That's why she says she couldn't see Bella being pulled out of the water, because the one who pulled her out was Jacob. Also, the blond Volturi is young Gellert Grindelwald (Deathly Hallows movie)

I have read the books a dozen times, but after the first full read through, I skip 90% of New Moon Jacob parts and almost all of the Eclipse ones as well. You can't sell me that she loves Edward so much that she is willing to die for him and cannot function without him and then try to get me to believe that she has feelings for Jacob. I hate love triangles. Jacob only gets worse but everything else only gets better. I literally cannot wait for you to watch the rest. I love how much you loved these movies. Also, just to point out some things you missed. The Volturri you called Draco is Vecna from Stranger Things. Victoria is Bryce Dallas Howard aka Jurassic World. I can't wait for you to see who all was in the upcoming films as well. So many cameos. Again, thank you for watching these and loving them for what they are. Watching these reactions makes my whole day.

I don’t know, the gorgeous forest settings, the grey skies, the depression, the soundtrack, the wolves… it’s so me vibes! I was eating this up as a teenager. Like it’s crazy I was reading the last book when I was in primary 6…. So I was 10. Like what was I doing? Anyway, you are right about Kristen Stewart. She got made fun of soooo much for this role and her awkward mannerisms but she was carrying these movies on her back!!! Like no one else could’ve pulled this off, she makes me buy into the ridiculousness of it all. She created depth where there is none. Honestly, the Mormon energy of the story, coming from the author’s own belief, makes me appreciate the story less now I’m older. I just can’t unsee it, I’m like okay that’s why they need to get married before they consummate the relationship. Oh it’s an allegory for abstinence.. Oh that’s why Bella doesn’t drink or even drink coffee or anything. It’s a rabbit hole in my brain. I don’t like the use of Indigenous culture but don’t get me started…… anyway “Where the hell have you been, Loca?” Is perhaps the funniest, most iconic line from this movie. That’s camp!

The biker guy wasn’t Hopper, but the Malfoy looking Volturi character does play Vecna! ALSO. The time lapse scene was groundbreaking literature for me reading the books as a sophmore. It’s like, you read this devastating break up chapter and then it’s just a page that says “OCTOBER” . Page after page, month after month like that until she could feel time moving again. It’s such a good way to write depression. And I know people always say this, but you should read the books—they’re a little different than the movies, especially as the saga goes on!
