I may have said this already but I love Quinn. She's one of my favorite characters and so far she's had probably the biggest character arc in these first 10 episodes, going from the mean girl who acts like she's above everyone to losing everything important to her and actually finding friendship in this group of people that she used to hate who accept her more than even her own parents.

A lot of people really dislike or hate Rachel because her character can definitely be obnoxious sometimes, but honestly she might be my favorite because of how unashamed and proud she is of her vocal abilities, she's kinda iconic.

Can’t wait for you to get into this second half of the season. I really think they found a great balance of absurd and human moments. ☺️

I grew up in a house similar to Quinn’s. Most of the time that pattern of abuse is generational—in small towns especially. I can’t think about how I grew up without thinking about how my mom did, and her mom before her, etc. It’s easy to be frustrated with Mrs. Fabray’s character for just letting her dad be awful, but it’s also easy to sympathize. And Dianna really did an amazing job during this episode!!

I can’t wait for season 2, I have a feeling you’ll love Kurt’s storyline after how much you loved the vibes in these episodes

I feel like I can say this bc it is about the cast and not related to the plot: Tina and Artie's actors are really close friends to this day and he was actually the "man of honor" at her wedding 3 years ago. So it was really funny watching them interact in these episodes

also Kurt's Deifying Gravity will always be one of my least favorite covers on the show.

Rachel was totally fair to be upset. Shue knew that those kids hated that girl, half of them literally bullied her. Anyone who claims that the rivalry between the glee club and Rachel was completely Rachel's fault has never watched the show. Will pit those kids against each other and made them think Rachel made him give her everything. It all started with him.

Fun fact: Lea Michele (Rachel) and Matthew Morrison (Will) used to date before they both played in Glee

I’ve started rewatching Glee after I started watching your reaction to it and it’s been a fun trip down memory lane, but I’ve also cried a lot lol I’m currently at season 4, and I’ve forgotten how much has changed in that season but I’m still enjoying it🤗 can’t wait to keep watching this show with you 🥰

all of the kids are sophomores btw, except for tina and artie who are freshmen, so they all should be somewhere around 14-16

“Young girl” original lyrics are “please get out of my mind, my love for you is way out of line, you better run girl you’re much too young girl” which is BANANAS. I appreciate them changing the lyrics to try to get Rachel to leave will alone lol

this makes me so sad 😭 some shows only barely reach their potential by the end of the 10 episode mark, and then the first season is over. and even if there’s some cool cliffhanger to keep you excited for the next season, AND it has good viewership, it still often gets cancelled. :(

Glee Season 1 is a prime example of how network television used to allow shows the time to find their footing. By the midpoint of the first season, the show starts to hit its stride, and from there, it only gets better—especially through the next two seasons. What’s missing from much of today’s TV landscape is the patience to let a series develop and grow before it’s canceled. Most modern shows are limited to just 8-10 episodes per season, which leaves little room for gradual improvement or deeper character development. If Glee had only been given 10 episodes to capture its essence and pitch itself as a long-running series, we would have missed so much of its charm, story arcs, and the evolution that made it memorable.
