I just think it's so cute and fun and kinda character building for Mike since this season is his first to actually have a bigger role. That duet is one I always remember and I don't even know where the song is from!

2025-02-09 19:20:14 +0000 UTCjust wanna say i love how initially u didn’t think you’d like this show and now here we are and it’s just getting good too. i knew you’d love this show show in all of its mess😭 the music in this show is really what people just gravitated towards. even in seasons i didn’t really like there’s still several songs u can walk away loving. people always joke on twitter how even til today the glee cast is still their number 1 most listened to artist every year haha.

It was silly and dumb and offensive at times, but it was one of the first shows to explore a lot of topics that are now all over media. It really changed television and pop culture in a meaningful and progressive way.

2025-01-31 19:22:11 +0000 UTCRachel's rendition of Barbara Streisand's "Papa Can You Hear Me" from Yentl is one of my Top 5 favorite performances ever on Glee. What a gorgeous song. But that being said, I don't love the episode. I'm an atheist and not a big fan of the church but I'm not an atheist BECAUSE I'm not a fan of the church. I'm an atheist because the world that I've experienced doesn't support the myth of a sentient, omnipotent, involved intelligence. Here, the atheists seemed to be Sue, who became an atheist because she was angry about her sister, Kurt, who has disdain for the politics of the church, and Artie (whom we only see nodding along but is the only clear "other" in the show who might have a reason to be angry at his lot in life). I think it's such a prevalent misconception religious people make, that atheists hate god and the church or are sad, cynical people who don't have faith in anything...I know because people always make that assumption about me when I say I don't believe in any gods. It also just takes me back to high school when I had to sit through choir class with a deeply religious teacher handing out hymns and saying "praise him" as we sang...anyway, I'm rambling. It just bothers me that the atheists were being portrayed as buzzkills and oppressors when the exact opposite is the case.

Santana and Mercedes and Rachel and Kurt's duets were my absolute favorite this episode and some of my favorite of the whole show! Insane talent among those 4 truly. Puck's actor Mark Salling was not revealed to be a complete POS until after the show, so his being absent this episode was not related to that and he will return. He was actually absent because he broke some part of his contract due to something he did in regards to like a band he was in or something? I don't really remember it well and I don't care to look it up, I'll be honesty lol That's a good example though of some of the...not so savory behind the scene things that came out of some of the actors after the show though! The writers, chiefly Ryan Murphy, would often take real life things of the actors and slip it into the show to sort of...punish them in a way. It's kinda crazy to really notice on rewatches.

2025-01-31 02:52:23 +0000 UTCThere's a lot wrong with Glee, but there's also a reason why this show is so important to an entire generation and I think Grilled Cheesus is one great example of why (even though it's such a stupid name for an episode). Seasons 2 and 3 have so many incredible moments like the ones in these couple of episodes and I'm glad you're enjoying the journey so far!
